The other day, on my way back from the movies with my boyfriend Marcos, we were deep in conversation on the already cold streets of Buenos Aires when suddenly we came across this beautiful café called Juan Valdez.
Without saying another word, we went inside to check it out, because a hot cup of coffee on a cold winter day is always welcome.
The name of this coffee comes from a Colombian coffee that is extremely popular internationally, and Argentina is no exception; it is very well received here.
The place is quite warm and cozy. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the rich aroma of coffee, which is much appreciated during this winter season.
I hadn't had lunch, so I was hungry and ordered a focaccia, which is a bread made with sourdough, with red onion, ham, and chard. It was very tasty.
I accompanied it with an espresso because I didn't feel like having something sweet, but rather something bitter and hot. Don't judge me😭.
Marcos also ordered one, and this atmosphere, plus the freshly brewed coffee, gave rise to the intense conversation we had been having. The place really helps a lot.
Something else I liked was that they allow pets, and we saw a beautiful little dog there. I asked its owners for a photo. It was as beautiful as the rest of the place.

El otro día, volviendo del cine junto a mí novio Marcos, estabamos sumidos en una intensa conversación en las calles ya frías de Buenos Aires, cuando de repente se nos cruza esta cafetería tan bonita llamada Juan Valdez.
No se dijo más y entramos para ver qué tal, pues un cafécito caliente para este frío invierno nunca cae mal.
El nombre de esta cafetería proviene del un café colombiano que es sumamente popular a nivel internacional y Argentina no es su excepción, es muy bien recibido acá.
El lugar es bastante cálido y acogedor, desde que entras te recibe el rico olor a café lo que para esta época de invierno se aprecia mucho.
Yo no había almorzado, así que tenía hambre y me pedí una focaccia, que es un pan hecho con masa madre, tenía cebolla morada, jamón y acelga, estaba muy rica.
La acompañé con un espresso porque no tenía muchas ganas de tomar algo dulce, sino más bien amargo y caliente, no me juzguen.
Marcos también pidió uno y este ambiente, más el café recién hecho, dio pie a seguir con la intensa conversación que veníamos manteniendo, de verdad que el lugar ayuda mucho.
Algo que me gustó también fue que permiten mascotas y vimos un perrito hermoso y muy pequeño en el lugar, le pedí una foto a sus dueños, estaba hermoso como el resto del lugar.
Y recordá, "no sos vos sin tu café."
