I'm forever hunting unique local coffee shops so I was super-chuffed to hear of Bean Hunters at Bunny Zone, a mere two kilometers from home.
Bean Hunters has a deck overlooking the Bunny Zone, and a small seating area inside if the weather is miserable.
Their cappuccinos are very good, and if Moms or Dads feel like being kids, they can order one of Bean Hunters' award-winning milkshakes!
I visited twice in the past two weeks, both occasions for breakfast. A friend and I sat outside on my first visit, on a glorious, sunny day.
I ordered a traditional Sunrise breakfast, while my friend enjoyed a bowl of scrumptious homemade Granola, filled with toasted nuts and seeds, and double-thick Greek-style yogurt.
Second-time around, the weather was a tad chilly when I took a regular guest, so we sat inside. A retired lady who went back to university, studying online, and books with us when it's time to write exams; a remarkable woman who has become a special part of Lily's Cottage!

Right next door to the coffee shop is HuntZone, an outdoor equipment and paintball store. They also sell bird and small animals' food, naturally bunny food so the kids can get up close and personal with the bunnies.
A real Zebra crossing on this quiet cul-de-sac takes one to the Bunny Zone, a truly unique petting zoo with bunnies, an old tortoise, guinea pigs, and chickens.
The Bunny Zone once was a neglected piece of municipal land with a stream running through it. It was 'adopted' in a project called Adopt-A-Spot and turned into a little haven for kids with free interactive fun activities and playgrounds.

Hunt Zone, the parent company of Bean Hunters and Bunny Zone, offers many other activities, catering to all ages -
self-defense classes, animal viewings, shooting range experiences, falconry shows, camps and so much more for the whole family.
They also have outreach programs, like an upcoming Blood drive for the SA National Blood Bank.
Bean Hunters for sure is a very different kind of coffee shop, with great coffee, food, and friendly service!
Both the indoor and outdoor areas appealed, but I must say, if the sun is out, I for sure prefer sitting outdoors on the deck, listening to the sound of little ones enjoying the petting zoo and the playground!
