Good First Impression, Bad Lasting Impact: A Tale of Poor Customer Service

We lived in a society where we depended on others directly or indirectly. Every day we meet many people, some of them are known and some of them are new to us. Some are come into our life and stay long, some come and go. When we come in contact with some one, we must understand that the other person is expecting the same behavior which we are expecting form the others. If we all understand and implement it in our daily life them the world must be a better place. Every day we come into contact with all different vendors around us like vegetable vendor, shop keeper etc. They come into our contact for small time but they play a important role in our daily life. Most of those vendors behavior well with all of us but every time does not bring the positive or good experience, some time we had some bad experience also. For me if some one does not behave well with me then I do not prefer to go there again and I guess non of us like to do so.

I am sharing one such bad experience I have in recent time. That was one fine Saturday and I was trying to complete the pending work, and replacing the battery of my phone was also on my list. I checked on the official site of the phone manufacturer but it was showing that I have to submit the phone and they will replace the battery and I have to received it form the service center next day. I do not find it a good solution a I do not want to hand over the phone to them. I went to the local market near to me and asked some of the Mobile phone seller if they can fix the battery issue by replacing the old one with new one. I asked two of three shops and finally get it done form one shop. I was happy that now I will not face any battery related issue but to my surprise when I put the phone on charging after coming back to home, the screen of the phone was not working. I decided to go back to the shop immediately to report the issue. This was my first visit to that shop, and when I entered into the shop to ask if they can replace the battery their behavior was very good. They greet me and asked very politely what I want etc. To be honest I was very impressed by their warm welcome. My kid was also with me and when I was waiting for the phone to be get fixed the shop keeper even start taking with me kid by asking name and the school name. They were all very polite with other customers also as I can see in those 20 min waiting time.
But the scenario was completely different when I come back to report the issue of the screen. At first they tried to blame me that I must drop the phone and that is the reason that the screen was not working. I was very polite and reply him that their was nothing happened like he suspected. They checked the phone form out side for fining any dent make to proof that they are right. After the thorough check they do not find any proof to claim that the phone was dropped but still they were trying to force me to accept that. That was very awkward situation for me as they were trying to make me guilty for the crime I have not admitted. I was very polite at that time also and reached to the owner of the shop which was already listening to my conversation with the guy who replaced the battery. I try to convey him that I am not asking for the money for my loose I just want to give you the feed back that I have faced such issues after the battery replacement, I also mentioned that that was my first experience with their shop and I am not happy with the experience. But to my surprise he reply with very rude voice - ok I have listen to you and not required any feedback. I was latterly socked. I understand that their is noting to talk with him so I left the shop and decide never to visit their again.

That was my experience where I have good as well as bad experienced both at same place the change was the situation.
