Greetings everyone!
By this season last year, I had travelled up to 4 to 5 times, attending different types of events both far and near. This year, however, decided to be a complete opposite of last year's vibe — and it’s good too, because those travels last year got me spending a lot of money. Also, during those travels, I experienced my worst fear while traveling, which is motion sickness. I won't lie, as much as I love to explore and visit new places or just have fun on those trips, the thought of experiencing motion sickness scares me a lot.
The Last Time I Travelled
Ever since the beginning of this year, I haven't embarked on any journey. My last travel was during last year's festive season (Christmas and New Year period), and I travelled to my hometown — which is actually the only place I feel comfortable traveling to at the moment without feeling pressured or inconvenienced. Apart from compulsory functions like attending events away from town, I don’t fancy (for now) visiting people to spend days in their homes. I'm not used to it because I feel like I’ll be inconveniencing the people in the house. So, I don't visit people to spend days; I only spend hours and return to base. So anytime I think of personal travel, it’s home travel or nothing.
What Happened During My Stay?
Before last year’s festive season, I had anticipated the travel because it had been a long time since I travelled home. So, it was a full load of fun meeting my family and bonding with them. That’s one of the best things that happens whenever I travel home — the happiness and jubilation that fills the house because someone who has been away for a long time came to join them. To make it more interesting, it was a festive season, and I had other siblings assemble at home too.
Another best thing that always happens whenever I visit home is premium feeding. My home is a village and we do farming, so food is never lacking in our house — never! Sometimes, the only challenge we face is who will enter the kitchen to cook. But this challenge never arises during the festive season because people (especially my female siblings) are available and they cook competitively.
Last time at home was a big flex of food — I never stayed hungry all through my stay there. It was either I was eating cooked food, or I was eating fruits, packaged foods like bread, drinking soft drinks.
We have a coconut tree, and it’s very sweet. Immediately I dropped my bag, the next thing I did was to go and pluck down many coconuts because I love coconut so much and had missed it a lot too.
When Am I Travelling Again?
Honestly, I'm very eager to travel — and it must be for a party. It’s been long since I attended a party, and I can't wait to have one again.
For now, if there’s no call for wedding events by friends or relatives, I might stay till year-end before travelling again — and that’s still to my hometown.
Thanks for reading.
