Greetings!
To be very honest, I used to frown at people who discarded eating animals. Why on earth would someone choose that lifestyle when the deliciousness of meat and fish is immeasurable? However, as I grew older, I found myself gradually following that path—not for the main reasons vegans do, but because I gradually lost interest in certain meats and fish I used to eat when I was younger.
What do I mean?
Before now, I had an unquenchable thirst for meat. I loved it so much that if one of our baby chickens got sick, I would start praying for it to die so that my siblings and I could feast on it and eat it to our satisfaction. This was because my mom never allowed such things to be added to the general soup; she frowned so much at soft, infant meats. During those days, no meat could pass me by, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
But now, eating such meat is a big NO for me. Even when a local fowl is slaughtered at home for a celebration, I hardly eat it unless it’s well dried or well smoked. Besides that, I still select certain parts to eat...you can't find me eating chicken's head
At one point, it became a big concern for my siblings. How could someone who used to eat all kinds of meat suddenly change? They wanted to label me a vegan, but no, I was far from it because I only abstain from eating local and not matured chickens. Other meats, especially goat meat and bush meat, are still very much on my menu—you can’t take that away from me.
Is there a possibility of me going fully vegan with the way I’m detesting infact meats?
Like I said earlier, I only stopped eating those specific meats because of the not-so-funny thoughts I have about them. In fact, I find eating meat that isn’t mature enough quite disgusting. It’s not that I do this because of how vegans see eating meat as a crime or being cruel to animals; I just don’t like that kind of meat.
With this clear reasoning, I’m very sure I won’t be considered a vegan even many years from now. I love meat and fish too much. Eating food with meat and fish is a part of my family’s culture, and I can’t imagine myself relying solely on vegetables instead of enjoying delicious meat and fish and licking my fingers afterward.
One of the meats I don’t joke with is goat meat. If someone used goat meat to set a trap for me, I would boldly walk into that trap. If heaven doesn’t allow goat meat, I might even reconsider my interest in going there if I find out it’s served in hell. Lol
Is living on vegetables healthier?
From what people say, depending on vegetables is healthier compared to eating fatty meats and fish. But even with that knowledge, I don’t see any harm in enjoying meats and fish. After all, they were created for consumption.
