It’s been a while!
I never thought I would be away from this site for quite a while, because this has been my online tambayan for years. Even though I have topics in mind and photos on my phone, finding the right time to write has been difficult. Now that I’ve finished one of my tasks, I can visit this site from time to time. If not to post, then at least to read and upvote other posts.
Ever since my sister got a job, I’ve been babysitting my niece. That’s another reason I stay busy during the day and work on my online job at night. I never really wanted to have a child because I grew up with many siblings, but here I am, acting like a second mother to my niece whenever her mom is at work.
One of the things my niece and I enjoy doing together is grabbing snacks. She’s a foodie, too. One day, my sister, niece, and I went down to town and came across a snack house near my brother’s school. We decided to stop by and grab some bites because the little girl seemed to be craving something. She loves fries, and the moment she saw the banner, she wanted to go in and eat.

The new snack house is located right by the road, so it’s easy to spot. It’s not fancy, and it’s even smaller than ours. But it offers more menu choices, including rice meals, than ours does. Since it’s downtown and is probably renting the space, the prices are a bit higher, too. I can say that's a good spot for a snackhouse, especially since it is located near a school. Many students would stop by on their break time for snacks or lunch.

While waiting for our food, we noticed a box on the table, and I guessed it was a little game the snack house had for customers. It was a cute puzzle game showing different SpongeBob facial expressions. It was fun, and we played with it several times until our food arrived.

Meanwhile, my little niece played with her newly bought kitten toys. We had stopped by her favorite toy shop before heading to the snack house, and she found another tiny toy to add to her collection.

I found the food presentation really cute, like we were having a picnic. The food was served in black metal wire baskets and cone holders, like the ones you see in modern cafes, food trucks, and casual diners. The pink checkered paper liners added a retro but trendy look. It made the food even more appetizing.

We ordered a brunch platter with a tuna sandwich and fries, a separate order of fries for my niece, and a ham and cheese sandwich for my brother, who drove us to town. We also ordered a matcha latte, plus watermelon and kiwi fruit sodas.

There she is, looked happy and excited to dig in.

After eating at this snack house, I thought about adding more items to our menu. However, getting more customers is still something I worry about. Now that there are more snack houses in downtown, people may not bother going all the way to our village to grab some bites anymore. So for now, I’ll focus more on affiliate marketing and online work, which have become extra sources of income for me while our snack house is still unstable.
I can’t wait for summer to come as I have some plans in mind.
Thanks for your time.
