A simple watermelon!
Hive friends, there's not much to say about this, except that the Japanese developed a way to grow this cube-shaped fruit. This allows them to save space at their stalls, allowing for a larger stock.
When I was asked to draw a watermelon as a representative fruit of summer for the International Nikkei Day sticker collection, I immediately thought of doing it this way. Although it's not difficult to find a watermelon in its natural shape in Japan, these cube-shaped watermelons have become a symbol and identity of Japanese culture.

Una simple sandía!
Amigos de Hive, no hay mucho que hablar sobre esto, solo que los japoneses desarrollaron una manera de cultivar esta fruta con forma cúbica, esto les permite ahorrar espacio en los puestos de ventas, lo que permite mayor número de stock.
Cuando me pidieron que dibujara una sandía como fruta representativa del verano, para la colección de stickers del Día Internacional del Nikkei, enseguida se me ocurrió hacerla de esta forma, pues aunque no sea difícil encontrar en japón una sandía con su forma natural, estas sandías cúbicas se han convertido en símbolo e identidad de la cultura japonesa.
