Hello friends, how are you? I hope all is well. In today's post, I want to share the photos I took in Turin, a city that I must say I quite like, although my favorite remains Milan. Today, I want to tell you a bit about what I did in Turin, which is located in the Piedmont region and is the fourth-largest Italian municipality by population. It is also famous because it is home to two important football teams, Torino and Juventus. However, I'm not much of a sports enthusiast, so I went mainly because I wanted to try a restaurant that had been recommended to me by a friend.
I was lucky because I arrived when the sun was shining, and it was quite warm for the season. I took advantage of this to take a little sightseeing tour in the squares of Turin, or rather simply in the main square because, honestly, I didn't feel like walking much—I've been quite lazy lately.
After having an excellent breakfast in one of Turin's historic cafes, especially known for selling chocolate, I had the fortune to visit the Bicerin café. Imagine a cafe that originated in 1760 where you can taste various types of chocolate. This underscores the role it played in tradition, and the Turin cafe is a quite famous and renowned place. If you ever find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping by.
Then, after walking a bit more, I randomly found a restaurant. This time, there was nothing planned, but I was simply very hungry. So, I chose the first one I found, and there I was able to enjoy an excellent plate of vitello tonnato, one of my favorite dishes that my mother used to prepare for me since I was a child. I must say that the random choice turned out to be excellent, and I was very satisfied.
Unfortunately, when I left, it was already dark, and it was raining, so I quickly headed to the station to catch the train back. In the end, I was very satisfied with this little getaway in this wonderful Italian city. I hope to have the opportunity to return soon and explore it more thoroughly.
I bid you farewell and thank you for taking a look. See you soon!
