Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan, Maldives, Indonesia and US, it's probably time to share about my recent Europe trip! If you are keen to find out which countries and cities I visited, you can read the quick summary here.
There is actually a back story behind this trip. My friend and I planned this trip a few years back and it was supposed to take place in Apr 2020, but as most of you would know, Covid 19 pandemic came and we had to cancel the trip due to all the travel restrictions and health advisories. So we planned for this trip in 2025 and it finally materialised!
Documenting all my entries for this 2025 Europe Trip:
Turkey - An Istanbul Adventure: From Blue Mosque to Bazaars
France - Exploring The Parisian Icons: Effiel Tower And Arc De Triomphe
France - Wandering Through Paris: The Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries
France - Strolling Through Paris: Notre Dame And The Seine
France - Climbing Montmartre: Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and Panoramic Views
After spending a few days in Paris, we took a domestic flight over to Nice! We had a few days to spare and was able to slot in a 2nd city in France, and we considered a few options before deciding on Nice. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect and didn't know much about Nice (except that Monaco is nearby - but that's another story for another time) so I came here with little to no expectations, just planning to enjoy the coastal views and see new stuff.
Promenade des Anglais is a promenade along the Mediterranean coast of Nice, it took us a short walk from the hotel to get to the coast. The first impression when I saw this was WOW! The coast was so beautiful! It wasn't particularly "happening", there were some beach bars but it was not overwhelming, and on some areas, there were locals just chilling out and enjoying themselves. It was a right balance, and the vibes were pretty tranquil, and it was such a great feeling to hear the waves crashing onto the shore, and feel the sea breeze, and of course admire the sights at the same time.

It was pretty cloudy and there were moments I was wondering if it will rain. Fortunately, there was no rain for the entire evening. Not sure about the significance of these flags on the beach but the winds were pretty strong so they made a great photo!

After enjoying Promenade des Anglais, we made our way back inland to explore the city. The main places in Nice can easily be covered by foot and we took a casual stroll around the city. One of the main modes of transport was their tram and it was very common to see these tram lines on the ground.

They had leisure spaces like squares and parks too, for the locals to admire some greenery and get some fresh air. In the parks, there were of course statues of famous people in their history, and artistic pieces on display too!

And finally, we saw a tram and I quickly snapped a photo!

Having taken a flight and spent time on travelling, we were a little tired so it was nice to spend the remaining day, just doing a relaxing stroll within Nice. My overall impression was that it was a pretty chill place, and people there were really enjoying themselves, be it at the beach, or at the eateries. Price wise, it was also more affordable compared to Paris too. All in all, it was definitely a great choice for Nice to the second French city to visit after Paris.
So that's all I have today! Have you been to Nice or France? Let me know in the comments below!
