I had the opportunity of a lifetime! I was invited to the soft launch of Essensai 067, a newly opened marketplace that houses a variety of brands and places, you can eat, shop and spend time at. It is located at Whitefield. I was far more than just excited to be a part of this, mainly because the legendary Usha Uthup was going to be there performing.
On Saturday evening, the event was starting at 7 pm. My boyfriend and I were out at a cafe and the plan was to travel to the event venue straight from there. There was no way I'd wanna miss the performance. Sadly, it started pouring heavily and as we were traveling by bike, we were stranded for quite long. It was already 7 and we were still an hour away from the place. Finally, when the rain reduced but not stopped yet, we decided to leave. I was okay reaching all drenched but did not want to give up.
Thankfully, we made it in time and she had just started with her performance. And I have to say, it was nothing short of mesmerising!
Now, for those of you who are not familiar with her, Usha Uthup's legacy is monumental. She is one of the most iconic singers in the Bollywood industry and is known for her bold and charismatic voice. She changed the face of the music industry with hits like "Ramba Ho". She also has the amazing capability of singing in multiple languages like Hindi, English, Kannada, French, Punjabi, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and many others.

The best part of her performance is that she not just sings, but she engages with the crowd, talks and tells stories. It's a whole experience which makes you feel one with her. I have always been a fan and this evening will always be one to remember. She made us dance, scream, laugh and I loved how contagious her energy was. And most of all, she's really funny. She shared some comical experiences from her life and had us all rolling on the floor.

Usha Uthup's performance definitely filled our souls and hearts, and then it was time to fill our tum-tums. The performance was followed by dinner at Barnhouse, a sophisticated yet cozy restaurant serving global cuisine. We had a heartful meal with glasses of rosé. I particularly enjoyed the salad, risotto, and desserts. It was a good end to the day.

Based in the midst of Whitefield, this place is definitely set to become a hub for people to chill at on the weekends or for post-office relaxation through the week. We had a nice time and it was definitely worth making it to the event.
That’s a wrap for this post. If you made it to the end, thank you for reading! I had an amazing time at the launch, and I hope you liked reading this post too. If you enjoyed it, please show your appreciation with a vote and a comment. And if you loved it, don't hesitate to reblog it!
