Yesterday was Kids' Day in my country, and my wife and I decided to do something special for our little girl. In just a few years, she'll be a teenager, and the Kids' Days we have left are numbered. When I really think about it, I'm just amazed at how fast time has flown. My children's childhood has been such a beautiful stage, and I've enjoyed every moment of it.
Los últimos días del niño de mi pequeña - Excepción con amor de pizza y helado
Ayer se celebró el día del niño en mi país y mi esposa yo decidimos hacer algo especial por nuestra pequeña. Ya en pocos años estará convirtiéndose en una adolescente, los días del niño que nos quedan están contados, cuando lo pienso detenidamente, me llenó de asombro como ha pasado el tiempo, y pienso que la niñez de mis hijos ha sido una bella etapa que he disfrutado muchísimo.
It's hard to avoid thinking that soon we'll be without kids in the house for a long time, at least until the grandkids arrive. The kids brought so much light and joy to my family; they've become an active part of our lives with their antics, achievements, development, challenges, and so much more. That's why our youngest daughter is the pampered one; she's the last little kid we have, and we want to savor every single one of her childhood moments with her.
Es difícil evitar pensar que pronto nos quedaremos sin niños en casa por un largo tiempo hasta que lleguen los nietos. Los niños trajeron luz y alegría a mi familia, se han convertido en una parte activa de sus ocurrencias, logros, desarrollo, desafíos, etc. Por eso mi hija menor es la consentida, es la última pequeñita que nos queda, y queremos disfrutar junta a ella cada uno de sus momentos de niñez.
We'd been saving up some money to take her out. She loves to go out and always asks us to eat something yummy away from home, but she usually gets the same answer: "We don't have money." So lately, when she asks to eat out, she just follows up with, "I know, we don't have money." She was really looking forward to this day, so to make sure it wasn't the same story, we slowly saved up to take her out to eat.
Estuvimos juntado algo de dinero para poder sacarla a pasear, a ella le gusta mucho salir y siempre nos dice para comer algo rico fuera de casa, pero siempre recibe la respuesta de que no tenemos dinero, por eso últimamente ahora cuando pregunta para comer fuera, ella misma sigue con la frase: ya se, no tenemos dinero. Ella estuvo muy pendiente de esta fecha, por eso para que no ocurriera la mismo, de a poco juntamos para sacarla a comer.

We headed to a shopping mall a bit far from our city, but one we've visited several times before. In its food court, which is one of the largest I know, we found a pizza place we really like because of its flavor, good prices, and affordable promotions. Even though there were several options, this is what our daughter asked for, probably because she's had it before and she loves pizza with pepperoni and bacon.
Nos fuimos a un centro comercial algo retirado de nuestra ciudad pero que hemos visitado varias veces en el pasado, en su feria de comida, que es una de las más grandes que conozco, encontramos una pizzería que nos gusta mucho, por su sabor, buenos precios y promociones bastante asequibles. Aunque hay varias opciones para comer, esto fue lo que pidió mi hija, quizás porque ya lo ha comido antes, sumado a que le encanta la pizza con pepperoni y tocineta.
After devouring the pizza, we had some ice cream cones for dessert. My daughter was over the moon because she'd been asking for ice cream for ages too. She told us it was a great day because she got to eat two of her favorite things. The reason is that we've cut out as much flour and sugar as possible from her diet, but this time, we made an exception to make her feel extra special.
Después de comernos la pizza nos comimos de postre unas barquillas de helado, mi hija estaba muy contenta porque también tenía mucho tiempo pidiéndonos helado. Nos dijo que este fue un gran día por poder comer dos de sus cosas favoritas, la razón es que le hemos quitado lo más que hemos podido harinas y azúcar, pero está vez hicimos una excepción para sintiera especial este día.
