"We have more houses than people..."
Please provide a source for this. I don't think we do.
"...you will probably have to pay more..."
Buying Christmas dinner, I was stunned by the $130 price tag on a slab of beef. I settled for a lesser cut, but lament more every week my poor skills with a bow that have cost me the game I should have taken in this last season.
"There will be little reason to live in these cities."
For many there will be compelling reasons. The price of fuel, will keep people in cities. Digital ID will force people of conscience to abandon licenses, and without licenses driving will become a crime to the Palantir drones doling out death penalties. Being free will become increasingly dangerous, as tyrants become increasingly competent to enslave people.
It isn't just food that will have existential value, but security, communications, and transport, and more.
Thanks!
