You are correct. Agriculture is a sector that is being neglected and this has been the case for decades. Nigeria as a country is taking the Agricultural sector for granted and we are now in a situation where scarcity of food stuff in addition to other factors have led to the skyrocketing of prices of food items.

Just like you said, having a lot of rice in the market will systematically reset the balance in demand and supply. Then, the price of rice will subsequently go down to a fairly decent spot.
