The fact that Bolivia was considerably cheaper than Argentina allowed my budget to cover a few more things. For an improvised trip, everything was going pretty well. During our second night in Sucre, we decided that it would be good to take a night walk in the city to discover what the place had to offer at that time. Luckily, we found a very good tourist offer that kept our budget within a reasonable range 😅.
El hecho de que Bolivia fuera bastante más barato que Argentina permitió que mi presupuesto abarcara algunas cosas más. Para haber sido un viaje improvisado, todo estaba saliendo muy bien. Durante nuestra segunda noche en Sucre, decidimos que sería bueno hacer un paseo nocturno en la ciudad para descubrir qué tenía para ofrecer ese lugar a esa hora. Por suerte, nos encontramos con una oferta turística muy buena y que hizo que nuestro presupuesto siguiera sin estar muy comprometido 😅.
For our stay in this city we got a hostel that charged us $10 per person and was only 10 blocks from the city center. We had to walk a bit to find the interesting movement, but being a little far away also had its advantages. From the door of our hostel, which was on a fairly high street, we had this incredible view. In the end, not staying in the center-center wasn't so bad either 😃.
Para nuestra estadía en esta ciudad conseguimos un hostel que nos cobró $10 por persona y a solo 10 cuadras del centro de la ciudad. Teníamos que caminar un poco para encontrar el movimiento interesante, pero estar un poco alejados también tenía sus ventajas. Desde la puerta de nuestro hostel, que estaba en una calle bastante alta, teníamos esta vista increíble. Al final, no hospedarnos en el centro-centro tampoco estuvo tan mal 😃.
During the day we had taken the opportunity to walk around the city and explore some of the interesting places in Sucre. On our way back to the hostel, we passed by a bar that was offering free salsa and bachata classes that same night, which seemed like an interesting way to do something different. Although I like this type of music, I only listen to it but I don't know how to dance to it, so I wanted to try it. In addition, the bar was in a very good location, with beautiful views of the Cathedral Basilica 😃.
Durante el día habíamos aprovechado para dar un paseo por la ciudad y recorrer a pie alguno de los puntos interesantes de Sucre. En nuestro camino de regreso al hostel, pasamos por un bar que ofrecía clases gratuitas de salsa y bachata gratis esa misma noche, algo que nos pareció interesante para hacer algo diferente. Si bien me gusta este tipo de música, solo la escucho pero no sé bailarla, así que quería intentarlo. Además, el bar estaba en una ubicación muy buena, con unas lindas vistas a la Catedral Basílica 😃.

By the time we got to the bar it was still a bit early and there were about 40 minutes left until class started. I am the most unpunctual person I know and if it had been up to me I would have gone right on time, but Guest M with his European culture had the great idea of going early just in case. There was no one in the room so we decided to use the time to get something to eat. Everything at the bar was quite expensive but next door we found a place that sold fries with dressing for only $1.50. Even though I had been in Bolivia for a few days now, I still couldn't stop being amazed by those very cheap prices 😃.
Para cuando llegamos al bar todavía era un poco temprano y faltaban unos 40 minutos para que empezara la clase. Yo soy la persona más impuntual que conozco y si hubiese sido por mí, iba en la hora justa, pero Huésped M con su cultura europea tuvo la gran idea de ir temprano por las dudas. No había nadie en el salón, así que decidimos usar el tiempo para ir a comer algo. En el bar todo era bastante costoso, pero al lado encontramos un lugar que vendían papas fritas con aderezos por solo $1.5. A pesar de que ya estaba en Bolivia hacia unos cuantos días, todavía no podía dejar de sorprenderme con esos precios demasiado económicos 😃.
After eating, we returned right away for class. Even though it was the time the sign said it would be, it still took a little longer for people to arrive. Guest M had already taken some salsa and bachata classes in Buenos Aires, but I hadn't, so it was all new to me. The truth is that I'm really bad at dancing, I'm practically hard as wood, so I didn't manage to do it well at all, but it was fun to try. The teacher also made the class lively and entertaining, making everyone dance with everyone else and lose their shyness. When it was over, the room continued playing free music to dance to and we stayed until almost 1 AM, since we had arrived at 9 PM 😅.
Después de comer, volvimos justo para la clase. A pesar de ser la hora que decía el cartel, igual la gente tardó un poco más en llegar. Huésped M ya había tomado unas clases de salsa y bachata en Buenos Aires, pero yo no, así que era todo nuevo para mí. La realidad es que yo soy muy mala para bailar, soy dura como madera practicamente, así que no logré hacerlo para nada bien pero fue divertido intentarlo. El profesor también animó la clase y la hizo entretenida, haciendo que todos bailáramos con todos y perdamos la vergüenza. Al terminar, el salón continuó poniendo música libre para bailar y nos quedamos hasta casi la 1 AM, desde las 9 PM que habíamos llegado 😅.
This trip, besides being casual and entertaining, was very economical for us since we didn't spend much and we had a lot of fun. The bar was full of other tourists looking for fun and I was glad to have been one of them. Even though I didn't dance as well, I liked having participated in the experience. Everything was great, from the weather to the atmosphere, which left me with a good memory of Sucre. Going out at night was something I hadn't done for a long time, and this was the perfect opportunity 😃.
Este paseo, además de casual y entretenido, fue muy económico para nosotros ya que no gastamos tanto y nos divertimos mucho. El bar estaba lleno de otros turistas que buscaban divertirse y me alegré por haber sido una más. A pesar de que el baile no me salió también, me gustó haber participado de la experiencia. Todo estuvo genial, desde el clima hasta el ambiente, lo que me dejó un buen recuerdo de Sucre. Salir de noche era algo que no hacía hace tiempo, y esa fue la oportunudad perfecta 😃.
