RE: A Day of Coffee, Caramel, & Chaos

in Daily Blog4 months ago

That's a seriously spooky coincidence! I made a crème caramel last week and the lady fingers for the tiramasu arrived from Shopee just 15 minutes before I read this post! Your recipe book is magic!

You can't cook without 'failures'. I also made a Toad in the Hole yesterday, which had overcooked on the outside and undercooked in the middle simply because I'd had the oven on slightly too high, but next time, I won't make the same mistake and it will be better. The moral is always that mistakes are a necessity to learning and improving. I'm saving the crème caramel and tiramasu when it's made later, today for future posts, but the Toad-in-the Hole.....

I hope you and your mum have a great week. Sometimes breathing in some fresh air and looking up at the sky is all it takes to get back on an even keel :-)

Whoaaa, I am going to try that Toad in the Hole but it looks something pretty doable. I promised myself not to bake anything this week 🤣 cause I've been doing too much of it for these past few days.

I've been wanting to make sausage rolls but that Toad in the hole seems a lot more reasonable to do 😄So, I'll let you know if I make it. We don't have real good sausages but there are a few candidates for it.

I also don't have the tin that was supposed to make the creme caramel that seems to be very necessary to pull creme caramel.

The Yorkshire pudding batter is very simple and is exactly the same as a pancake batter. The trick is getting the rise!
I got 2 out of 4 to stay moulded! Its very faffy using water baths and getting the timing and temp. Just bright!
