Warm greetings fellow reflection Hunters! π π π β¨ π€
For my entry in Reflection Hunters Contest: Round 184, I want to share a handful of photos that I took today, of the Dixie silverback fern - Pityrogramma calomelanos, and its elegant Reflections in my always-trusty portable mirror. There are several of these lovely ferns growing out of cracks in the lava, along the flat lava steps, going up to the Flow House (or going down, depending on your perspective).
These photos are taken from above, so the tops of the fronds are clearly visible, while my portable mirror caught the reflections of the undersides of the leaves. You may notice that the undersides look white, and that's not an illusion, they are indeed quite white. They have a white, waxy powder surrounding the spore-producining bodies, that is quite striking, as it's often so bright. One cool thing about this fern is that you can gently push the undersides of the leaves into your skin, and they will leave a white fern pattern behind, kind of like a very temporary tattoo. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did when I took them! π π π β¨ π€
πThis is my entry!π
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Play 2024 Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! πππβ¨π€
