Millions are eat this vegan street food without thinking it is vegan

in Plant Power (Vegan)9 months ago

Hello, friends and food lovers greetings First time trying to publish here on the #inleo platform.
Today, I'm sharing a recipe for a popular Indian street food called Samosa. It's well-known in India and various Asian countries. In India, it's often made in different versions, with the majority being vegan. However, they use animal products in some places, but very few people eat them in India. The majority is 95 % vegan. This is my family's version, which is common in Maharashtra and Goa. Samosas can be enjoyed as a snack, breakfast, lunch, or at parties and gatherings. Despite being vegan food, many people eat them without realizing it. Here is my tutorial to learn how to make samosas.

! cup of white flour

This is what carom seeds, also known as Bishop weed seeds, look like. Using them in fried food helps to balance the recipe, helping the digestion of oily food and reducing acidity and gas.

For stuffing

Roll them round in 2mm thick using a rolling pin, Cut them in the middle and make half a circle.

Using the water brush the straight side of half circle -round.
Make a cone folding the wet side together.
holding the cone in the hand fill the stuffing into the cone.

Untitled1.jpg
Now fold the edges using a few drops of water. The edges should be fixed properly otherwise the oil should go inside the samosas during the frying process.
fold all samosas and keep them covered.

Untitled2.jpg
Heat the oil in a pan.
when the oil is enough hot, carefully slide the samosas into it. Don't get hot oil on your hand-fingers.
Fry samosas thoroughly using medium heat.
Flipping them both sides.

I like them with mint chutney which has a spicy and tangy taste, and dates chutney is a sweet and sour taste.

Hi @hindavi

This recipe is great. I am surprised by the use of spices, especially green carom seeds, since here they are only used in desserts or drinks. These samosas look very crispy and delicious. Excellent recipe. Thanks for sharing it in the community.

Hugs!

Thank you for your nice words I am glad you like it. About carom seeds, they have a special taste that gives a special aroma to savory food. Never tried it in dessert yes we use it in some drinks. Thanks alot for support. A hug :)
