Greetings dear friends who love vegan food. Today I share with you a simple recipe that is made with precooked corn flour, boil it, add salt and just mix and mix until the mixture thickens. Let it cool and we will have a delicious cake, this is how funche or polenta is made. However, this time I wanted to do something different, I put several ingredients to obtain a seasoned funche, the first one I have done this way.
I added some basic seasonings such as onion, red bell bell pepper, chives, garlic and garlic. To give it a sophisticated touch I added olives and some capers. For seasoning I only used salt, dried oregano and turmeric. I confess that I haven't prepared polenta for many years, but I decided to make it in a different way. If you want to taste corn flour other than arepa, making funche aliñado can be a good alternative.
Ingredients
- 3 cups of yellow precooked corn flour
- 5 cups of wate
-1 branch of garlic
- 1 sprig of chives
- 1 onion
- ½ red bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic
- 3 stuffed olives
- 6 capers
- Salt to taste
-1 teaspoon turmeric
-2 teaspoons dried oregano
- Frying oil
Preparation
1.-. Wash well and cut the garlic and chives
2.- Wash and cut into cubes the red bell pepper.
3.- Remove the skin from the onion and garlic. Cut the onion into cubes and leave the garlic finely chopped.
4.- Sauté the onion, garlic, chives and green onion in a frying pan with a drizzle of oil. When they have wilted a little, cut the olives and capers into small pieces and add them to the frying pan, let them cook for 1 more minute. Turn off the heat and set aside.
5.- In a saucepan place the 3 cups of corn flour and gradually add the 5 cups of water. Stir to prevent lumps from forming.
6.- We take the preparation to low heat. Season with salt to taste, turmeric and dried oregano. Stir, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
7.- When the mixture takes a little consistency, pour the reserved seasonings. Continue mixing until it thickens and the bubbles are large. Pour the mixture into a mold, we will use as a base the paper or the same of the rice package, this will facilitate the unmolding. Let it cool at room temperature and it will be ready to unmold.
We serve slicing our funche or polenta.

Saludos estimados amigos amantes de la comida vegana. Hoy les comparto una receta sencilla que se hace a base de harina de maíz precocida, se hierve, se le pone sal y solo hay mezclar y mezclar hasta que la mezcle espese. Se deja enfriar y nos quedará un delicioso pastel, así se hace el funche o polenta. No obstante, esta vez quise hacer algo diferente, le puse varios ingredientes para así obtener un funche aliñado, el primero que he hecho de esta manera.
Le coloqué algunos aliños básicos como cebolla, pimiento morrón rojo, cebollín, ajo porro y ajo. Para darle un toque sofisticado adicioné aceitunas y algunas alcaparras. Para condimentar solo utilicé sal, orégano seco y cúrcuma. Confieso que desde hace muchos años no preparo polenta, pero me decidí a hacerla de una manera diferente Si quieres degustar la harina de maíz que no sea arepa, hacer funche aliñado puede ser una buena alternativa.
Ingredientes
- 3 tazas de harina de maíz precocida amarilla
- 5 tazas de agua
-1 rama de ajo porro
- 1 rama de cebollín
- 1 cebolla
- ½ pimentón rojo
- 2 dientes de ajo
- 3 aceitunas rellenas
- 6 alcaparras
-Sal al gusto
-1 cucharadita de cúrcuma
-2 cucharaditas de orégano seco
-Aceite para freír
Preparación
1.-. Lavamos bien y cortamos el ajo porro y el cebollín.
2.- Lavamos y cortamos en cubos el pimentón rojo.
3.- Le retiramos la piel a la cebolla y a los ajos. Cortamos la cebolla en cubos y dejamos el ajo bien picadito.
4.- Ponemos a sofreír en una sartén con un chorrito de aceite la cebolla, el ajo, el cebollín y el ajo porro. Cuando se hayan marchitado un poco, cortamos en trocitos las aceitunas y las alcaparras y las añadimos a la sartén, dejamos que se cocine por 1 minuto más. Apagamos el fuego y reservamos.
5.- En una olla colocamos las 3 tazas de harina de maíz y gradualmente las 5 tazas de agua. Vamos removiendo para evitar que se formen grumos.
6.- Llevamos la preparación a fuego bajo. Condimentamos con la sal al gusto, la cúrcuma y el orégano seco. Vamos removiendo, sin dejar de hacerlo para evitar grumos.
7.- Cuando la mezcla tome un poco de consistencia, vertemos los aliños que hemos reservado. Seguimos mezclando hasta que espese y las burbujas sean grandes. Vertemos la mezcla en un molde, usaremos como base papel enserado o el mismo del empaque de arroz, esto facilitará el desmoldado. Dejamos enfriar a temperatura ambiente y ya estará listo para desmoldar.
