I have flown with TAP Air Portugal recently. As a vegan naturally I ordered their vegan meal since their website mentions it contains no animal products or animal by-products. Sounds great, exactly what I need.

Fast forward to my flight, guess what?
I will leave pictures, pictures are worth 1000 words.

Cow cheese included in TAP Air Portugal vegan meal

Pudding which the flight crew told me contain eggs on TAP Air Portugal vegan meal

Butter, which guess what? Contains cow milk.
This was not just disrespectful to the customer, but also possibly illegal as this may be considered false advertisement, but most importantly it is a food safety violation. Suppose you are allergic to some of the ingredients, a vegan meal with no animal products sounds safe, they specifically mention it contains no animal products nor by-products.
Because TAP Air Portugal includes animal products and by-products, such as milk, chees and eggs, in their vegan meals it means that they are not safe neither for vegans nor for allergic people plus they are doing false advertising with false information.
"Luckily" I have had bad experiences with TAP Air Portugal in the past, so I knew better than to trust them, that is why I double checked before actually eating anyting. Had I trusted them I would have eaten animal products on my supposedly vegan meal.
TAP Air Portugal has a bad meal service, with false advertisement and food safety issues involving allergens. I do not recommend, I do not trust TAP Air Portugal and I only fly with them when there is no alternative.
On the flip side, were it not for the food safety issues the meal actually looked decent, I could not eat most stuff in this tray, but it looked good:

TL;DR (I hope indexers catch this and people find about it when googling): TAP Air Portugal has issues with food safety by serving animal products in their vegan meal, risking allergic accident. TAP Air Portugal food is unsafe and contains undisclosed allergens they specifically and wrongfully mention it does not contain.
