My mom used to prepare this dish when I was a kid as an afternoon snack. My family and I used to make home-cooked meals as snacks at home, you know I almost never snacked outside because snacks were always provided.
This processed sweet potato is a snack that is quite popular in my area, this snack is known as sweet potato thymus. Sweet potato thymus is made by using sweet potatoes that have been steamed first, then stirred with grated coconut and additional sugar so that it has a savory sweet taste. Sweet potato thymus snacks are quite often made in my house, therefore I have memorized the process of making step by step preparation of this one cake.
So here I will also invite you to prepare a legendary cake just like my mother's recipe. I'm sure you'll love this sweet potato dish!
Ingredients
200 grams boiled sweet potato
100 grams grated coconut
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Cooking Procedure
Puree the boiled sweet potato with a pestle, do not use water.
Add sugar to the mashed sweet potato to dissolve the sugar.
Also add salt, then mash until smooth.
Next, when the sweet potato is smooth, add the grated coconut and then add the flour.
Stir everything until well mixed, make sure the sugar and other materials has dissolved completely.
If everything is mixed, form a square dough or according to your taste and then Next I prepare the dressing ingredients
Prepare 2 tablespoons of flour 1 spoon of tapioca flour and one spoon of salt I mix all the ingredients then add enough water stir until thick.
If it has thickened dip the dough that has been formed earlier, then fry with hot oil until brownish yellow.
Result
Sweet potato timus is ready, serve in a serving plate with sugar sauce or your favorite chili sauce. But because I usually enjoy sweet potato timus without sauce I prefer it like this. Just a sprinkle of sesame seeds is very good and I can have fun with it.Warm tea is usually the friend to relax with this cake. Who would have thought that this cake is made so easily, it's only made from sweet potatoes with a mixture of grated coconut and then fried using flour.
The texture is soft on the inside, and the sweetness and savory of the coconut is so pronounced. I love the aroma of this cake when it's cooked after frying. The aroma of sweet potato with the combination of grated coconut is enough to make me want it especially during the rainy season ah really good to enjoy warm.
