Greetings to all my friends, today I want to share with you my favorite food, do you want to know what that is .
Porridge Beans
Beans is one of the common food in my country and many people love it so much.
I grew to love beans even though some of my siblings don't like it but my mom does. There some ways to cook it but I love mostly the porridge.
Today I cook it with utazi leaf also known as Gongronema latifolium
It is used to prepare many food in my country while people use it as medicine.
This leaf is used to relieve stomach pain, frequent urge to urinate and many more .
Here are few steps I took while preparing the food,I started by bringing out the ingredients I needed for food
ingredients
- 1 cup of beans
- 2 small onions
- 4 pieces of Pepper
- Red oil
*Utazi leave (gongromena latifolium) - Salt to taste
procedure
I started by sperating the beans,the good and the bad one along with the chaff
And then I wash the beans into a clean pot and place on the cooking stove to boil.
While waiting for my beans to get boiled
I slice my onions, pound my pepper and then wash my utazi leaf and slice it.
After sometime the beans started boiling .
I sieve out the water and poured it back to pot and started cooking, I cook it until it is soft.
I then added my onions
And then I added my pepper and I later added my salt and covered the pot.
I waited for sometime
Then I added my red oil and I left it to boil
After two to three minute I added my utazi leave and turn it
And now it is done and ready to serve
I love this food because of it nutritional value.
It is rich in protein, fiber and iron and it reduces the risk of intestinal discomfort.
