Hello plant based foodies, wherever you are in the world! Here @sirenahippie

One of the most beautiful months of the year has already begun (for humans), but perhaps one of the most terrifying for animals in general; and yes, December is a month full of traditions, light, color, joy, it is the month of Christmas; but unfortunately it is also a month during which humans use a lot of pyrotechnics, many fireworks, generating mortal terror in animals.

Animals have much more heightened senses than humans. What for us is a slight noise, for them is a stridency; So, imagine what a thunderous explosion is for humans, it is something FRIGHTENING, TERRIFIC, TERRIBLE for animals. And when we refer to animals, they are all animals in general, although obviously companion animals or pets (dogs and cats) live with humans, in populated centers, so they are more exposed to fireworks; but birds, rabbits, horses, cows, goats, reptiles, opossums, and any other animal species, also perceive the noises produced by fireworks and suffer greatly from it, suffering that can cause an atrocious, cruel, miserable, painful death.

It is understandable that there are traditions linked to the use of pyrotechnics or fireworks, but it is also very understandable and respectable that thinking about animal welfare, it is necessary to reflect and analyze, that something that is vain, ephemeral, and also very expensive like Fireworks can cause a lot of damage to other living beings. So, the use of pyrotechnics is not justified, because it is cruel.

Below we point out (again) what happens when animals in general are exposed to fireworks:

  • Uncontrollable shaking, panting and salivation.

  • Seizures and fainting.

  • High levels of stress, fear and terror that can become chronic.

  • They flee, exposing themselves to vehicular accidents or other risks and dangers.

  • Involuntary urination and defecation.

  • Tachycardia.

  • Paralysis.

  • Disorientation.

  • Damage to the hearing device, and the consequent total or partial loss of hearing.

  • Intoxication and contamination due to the gases and particles expelled by these devices.

  • Death, product of heart attacks due to the terror they experience.

You can make a difference, you can be kind and gentle with animals. To do this you can do the following:

  • Do not buy pyrotechnics or fireworks.

  • Raise awareness among children and young people about the negative consequences of the use of fireworks, both for animals and humans.

  • If you have companion animals or pets, make sure you make them feel comfortable these days. Do not leave them outside the homes, try to accompany them so that they feel the support and closeness of their humans.

  • Consult the veterinarian in advance about what treatment to give them, to mitigate the terror that the animals experience. There are painkillers and there are treatments with pheromones, which can reduce fear and anxiety. There are also massages, bands that tie around the body, ear covers, etc. It is very important that you keep in mind that there are medications for dogs that can be fatal for cats, so be very careful and consult your veterinarian.

  • Put yourself in the place of animals in general. Think about the terror that being in a bombing, in a war, could mean for you. It is something similar for them, because they do not understand that they are explosions that may not be able to harm them directly.

  • If an animal comes to your house scared, looking for shelter and company, do not throw it out onto the street. Try to be compassionate, give him shelter as long as he needs it.

As you can see, the use of pyrotechnics and fireworks is totally unjustifiable. So, the Plant Power (Vegan) community calls on you:

PLEASE, BE COMPASSIONATE TO ANIMALS, DON'T USE FIREWORKS, DON'T USE PYROTECHNICS

Thank you very much @sirenahippie for raising awareness with this kind of publications, really there is still a lot of unawareness regarding this issue, we as humans have the responsibility to take care of the animals and not create more problems, in fact they are very serious problems.😌

It is necessary that as humans, we become aware that we are not the top of Creation, but a part of it, just like animals and plants.

It is also essential to educate new generations, making them more compassionate and respectful of other species.

I hope this post reaches the hearts and consciences of those who read it.

Thanks for stopping by to read and comment. Hugs @carisma77
