After a fun day of sightseeing at Osaka Castle with my friends, we decided to head over to Dotonbori to indulge in some delicious okonomiyaki. It was a bit surprising to me how we transitioned from the castle to the lively streets of Dotonbori for dinner, but I really admired the cleverness of their plan, which took us around to many great spots!
Being a local, I usually grab okonomiyaki at a neighborhood spot, but my friends were keen on experiencing a popular tourist-friendly restaurant, so off to Dotonbori we went! Oh, wow!
Dotonbori was buzzing with energy and full of tourists, which made it feel really vibrant. It had been a while since my last visit, and I couldn’t resist snapping some photos of the new signs that have popped up. Overall, it was a fantastic outing!
友人と大阪城へ観光に行った後、道頓堀に移動してお好み焼きを食べることにしました。すこし面白いなと感じたのが、大阪城で観光してその後、わざわざお好み焼きを食べるために道頓堀まで移動したと言うことです。さすが、観光地を回るようにコースを考えているなと感じました。わたしは大阪の地元にすんでいるので、お好み焼きなどは近所のお好み焼き屋へ食べに行くのですが、友人たちは観光客に有名なお好み焼き屋さんを事前に探している様で、道頓堀へ行くことにしました。 道頓堀は大阪の中心街で、本当にたくさんの観光客が来ていて、とても活気がありました。久しぶりに道頓堀に来たのですが、新しい看板も増えていて何枚か写真をとりました。
Dotonbori is such a fun place, especially with all those giant, colorful signs! I recently spotted a new one that I hadn't noticed before and couldn't resist taking a picture. One of my favorites is the famous dragon sign for Kinryu Ramen. I used to go there all the time! Back then, I could just walk in without waiting, but now it's so popular with tourists that it takes at least 30 minutes to get a seat. But trust me, it's totally worth it because the ramen is absolutely delicious! If you’re in Osaka, you have to give it a try!
道頓堀はそこに飾られている看板の大きさで有名なのですが、前に来た時には気づかなかった新しい看板を見かけたので写真を撮ってみました。金龍ラーメンの竜の看板は有名で、わたしもよくここのラーメンを食べました。昔は並ばずに店内に入れたのですが、今では観光客が多くて３０分ぐらいは待つようです。それでも美味しいので、ぜひ、大阪に来た際は食べに行ってみたください。

A friend of mine took me to this amazing okonomiyaki restaurant called Chibo, and it was my very first time at an okonomiyaki spot in my hometown! I’ve always thought of okonomiyaki as a bit of a treat. Back when I was a kid, it cost around 250 yen, but now it’s jumped to 1,800 yen in Dotonbori. Wow, prices in Japan really have gone up, and I was kind of shocked by how much more expensive it has become. The okonomiyaki was absolutely delicious! Still, I think making it at home is the best and most budget-friendly way to enjoy it. But I’ll always treasure the fun memories I made at the restaurant with my friends!
友人がChibo「千房」というお好み焼きを紹介してくれました。地元のわたしも始めていくお好み焼き屋さんでした。お好み焼きが少し高級料理にかんじました。私は子どもの頃、お好み焼きは２５０円ぐらいでしたが、今では道頓堀では１８００円まで価格が高騰していました。確かに日本は今、物価高ではありました、あまりにも価格が高くなっていてびっくりしました。お好み焼きは美味しかったです！でも、自分で作るのが一番おいしくて、安く作れるなぁと感じてしまいました。それでも、友達と一緒に行ったこのレストランの思い出は格別になりました。
