Hello guys it’s Throwback Thursday and I am thrilled to share some beautiful memories with you all.
Today, I’ll be sharing memories from my friends farewell party.
Truly, saying goodbye is one of the hardest things known to man. It seems simple yet difficult.
A few months ago, I realized most of my close friends have left the country. This movement has also affected our friendship dynamics as we solely rely on phone calls to see each other.
No showing up at your doorstep, no bumping into each other randomly, no making of plans and canceling, just multiple calls, messages and photos to keep the spark burning.
A few weeks ago, we organized a farewell party for my friend who was about to join my long-distance friendship list. As much as I was happy to see him go and excel, I couldn't believe he was actually leaving for real. He is one of my good friends AKA my chauffeur, it hurts to lose one of my friends to distance again but regardless I am grateful and happy.
The farewell party was a huge success, one I cannot forget in a hurry. It was a combination of fun, tears, fashion, and many other elements.
We all gathered together, cracked jokes, played games, ate, and reminisced about the good old days.
It was a day of mixed emotions. Watching my friend move around in excitement while also accepting that he was leaving for good. It was truly a hard pill to swallow, but I swallowed it anyway.
Saying goodbye is very difficult especially for the people who are left behind. To the ones leaving, they are going on a new adventure, where they get to explore, make new memories, and also make new friends while you are stuck with the memories of them and would learn to live with the fact that they truly are miles and miles away.
The highlight of my day was when we all had to talk about this wonderful friend of ours. It was so nice to hear so many beautiful things from his friends and loved ones and also the bad things. It was an emotional moment for us all as we thought about our precious friend.
We played games and I just realized I suck at playing games. I kept on losing every game .
The food was spot on as we ate to our heart's content and there was no room to contain the rest.
In conclusion, it was a good day, meeting new people and making lovely memories with them was great.
