Il Corso is a mall along South Road Properties of Cebu City. It is located in front of the sea and guests can bring materials to have a picnic while enjoying the seaview. The place is filled with restaurants with food and drink options for different taste preferences and price points.
Our spontaneous dinner out was initiated because no driver would accept our food delivery since it was the first of January, so we decided we might as well go out and get food ourselves. We drove our motorcycle through South Road Properties and we enjoyed the night ride because of the cold breeze and the spectacular view of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.
Since it was the first day of January, the place was filled with people. We have been constantly eating here and this is our first time seeing so many people. The restaurants were filled, people along the shore setting up foldable chairs, and there were plenty of dogs being walked as well.
We got seated on tables beside the walkway where customers could squat, but unfortunately before we even ordered, we had to transfer because rain started to pour and it had no roof.
Despite the rain, we ordered kra paw chicken and pad woosen and we savored the Southeast Asian flavored down to the last drop.
After our meal, we decided to get something hot and walked around the mall to find a hot drink. We found ourselves in a place called Luminous, a restaurant and bar that offers live music.
The place was big and their menu offered a variety of food and drinks with a lot of options. I really like the variety; from hot drinks, coffee, cocktails, and tea- their drink options alone were multifarious.
We were already full, so we only ordered hot chocolate; I got the regular hot chocolate while my partner got the orange cinnamon hot chocolate. I think it’s a perfect place to hang out with a group of friends and despite only staying for a quick drink, we had a really good time.
After all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s great to finally have a breather. I am glad that our food was not delivered otherwise, I would not have enjoyed the night the way I have.
If you’re ever around Cebu City, I definitely recommend visiting the place. It was night time when we went, so the sea wasn’t very clear in pictures, but it’s directly in front of the mall. I think it’s worth the visit.
