Dried Fish and a Story!

Hello Hive Friends!! :) Smile!!! Hehe... What I am going to share today is about food... Yes! It's about food... Here in Hong Kong Filipino food is expensive, like for example this dried fish... hmmmm... yummm... which also smells so fishy... :))
Foreigners don't like to smell this fishy dried fish when we fry it!! Haha... I remember that it was 4 years ago when I fried this kind of fish here in my employer's house and suddenly my boss lady came home! She told me "Please, don't make that food again!!! This is my house not your house!!" Lol... I felt so shy in that moment... But nowadays most of the time I stay alone in this place, so that I can make as much Filipino food as I want.

I especially like dried fish with hot vinegar, with spicy chilli, with fried rice mixed with vegetables... or also with some raw lettuce...

Here I served it together with some chili.

Salmon!!

Salmon I most of the time bake, and sometimes I simply just fry it! I like this fish with rice or salad - it's sooo delicious! Hehe

Avocado with Tofu, Cod Fish and Brocolli!!

I just recently learned how to make this dish from a Taiwanese lady. She explained me that tofu contains a lot of proteins which would especially benefit women... And it's delicious together with avocado, just add some soy sauce for the best possible taste!

Last but not least Jogging!!

I especially like to eat fish on days when I plan to go jogging as on the one hand it provides enough energy but on the other hand fish doesn't sit heavily on my stomach.

The pics below were taken when I jogged on the street in the evening ... It is nice to run in the evening, even if I do it most of time during day time, either in morning between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. or in the afternoon from around 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m..

It looks so delicious, all of it. Fishy indeed.

Food is so much more than nutrition. It's home, and family, and culture. We share food to show love. And when we cook food away from those we love, we feel that union in the food we serve.

Silly homeowner. Missing out on some great cooking :)

Thank you for appreciating my cooking efforts and my food @agmoore!

You are describing so nicely how food can connect people with each other, especially if one is working abroad and sometimes missing home and family!

"... This is my house not your house!!"

Lol, it's truly a remarkable feat of intelligence that the homeowner, after some thought, came to the conclusion that her house belongs to her... :-)
She could have simply politely asked you not to cook this dish anymore in the future, right...?

Thank you for sharing these delicious and healthy 'fish dishes'! 👍

Thank you for your nice comment @jaki01... My employer said that because she smelled the worst smell of any food that Filipinos love to eat... hehe.
