Ash Wednesday
In the Philippines Ash Wednesday always lies on a Wednesday after which the Catholic tradition of a 40 day lasting Lent season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving begins. But here in Hong Kong, since all OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) only have one day off per week, Ash can be committed on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday.
Last Sunday's afternoon!
My Ash Wednesday in Hong Kong took place last Sunday, which is why you can see the ash cross on my forehead in the following photos.
After church I was in the mood of having fun with friends who at the same time are my Sisters in Christ! My fellow servants... Here we are walking around and seeing some beautiful spots to take pictures together.

Ending up Alone!
But then I ended up alone... hehe!! So here I was craving of fries but when I got inside of the McDonald's, I changed my mind to just have some cheese cake with blueberries and a hot salted caramel drink.
Thinking about Shoes after eating!
Oh yeah, as I said before, I am not a shopping girl! I just go to shop if it's really necessary.
Well, a few months ago, I already told to myself that it would be good to buy new running shoes before December 2024, since my current shoes were already really old: I bought them 2019! And I was always using them every day, at work and for my running.
Look at this shoe pictures below: The shoes lasted a very long time and were tough (like I myself, hehe). But by now it was really time to replace them!
However, when December came and I was checking the balance of my bank account ... I told to myself that probably I still should use my old shoes until 2026... hmmm... but guess what? My sponsor again... hehe,.. Someone paid for me again. Well, Gen is not just lucky but blessed!
New Asics Shoes!
For seeking my new shoes, I just walked around the Causeway Bay Area, and anyhow I planned to buy Adidas shoes... hahaha... But then I couldn't find the Adidas store in Causeway Bay Area, so I said to myself to just take a look into whatever shop I would find and to try out several different brands!
Hmmm, and then I found some Asics shoes! I had heard that these shoes would be very good to use for running because they are so light. So yeah, Asics won... hehe... Quite nice! I got a good price and the shoes are so comfy... The original price was 999 HKD, but they were sold for only 689 HKD... Nice deal!
My final choice, hehe!
First Use of the Shoes!
What lovely shoes! The following day I tried them out in the treadmill in the house of my boss... So wow! I can say that these are are really energizing shoes... I walked for 60 minutes at speed level 10... I just had one break to drink some water... plus 5 minutes cool down. That means in total 65 minutes of walking!
I recommended these shoes to everybody who loves running...
