Hello fans and friends, hehe! It's been quite a while ago since last time I shared something new about my food! But here we go again... Are you hungry and need some coffee for breakfast together with some snacks?! Then Puto Cheese and Ginataang Bilo Bilo, made by Gen with love, might be what you are looking for, hehe!
This photo is from a while back — October 2024 — when I was selling my Bilo Bilo.

Puto Cheese!
I prepare Cheese Puto similar like described here by using all-purpose flour but going without eggs. It's the the baking powder which lets the mixture rise!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup fresh milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 5 cups of water for steaming
By the way, to color the violet and green Puto Cheese you find in the pictures below I used ube and pandan flavor.
Recipe
- Pour 5 cups of water into a steamer and let it boil.
- Mix all-purpose flour, granulated white sugar and baking powder together in a bowl.
- Add the milk step by step while stirring, until the consitency of the mixture becomes smooth enough.
- Stir-in butter, vanilla extract and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Fill the mixture into molds and arrange them in a steamer. Cover and steam them for 25 minutes. Top each puto with the remaining cheese and steam 5 further minutes.
Take Cheese Puto out of the steamer and let it cool down.
Here you can see now a selection of different kinds of Puto Cheese I made:

Ginataang Bilo Bilo
This kind of sweet stuff is good for rainy and cold season days. I love Ginataang Bilo Bilo also for dessert.
Made with glutinous rice balls, plantain bananas, sweet potatoes and tapioca pearls that is cooked in sweet coconut milk, and - to make it more special - I also might for example add some pieces of jackfruits.
I hope the pictures of my Bilo Bilo will make you hungry, hehe!

Also the colors of Bilo Bilo can vary depending on the ingredients.
