Hello hello hello everyone, how are you all doing? I'm back again, haruki.tls123, with a new blog. I hope you're all well and ready for another exciting update from my journey. It's always a pleasure to share my experiences with you all, and today I've got something special to talk about! ✨

As you know, I have been the SSLG President at my alma mater, but now my term has come to an end as I have been succeeded by a new president. Today's topic is all about the recent elections at our school and what it means for me as my last official activity as the SSLG President. This is a significant moment for me, and I would love for you to join me as I reflect on this transition and share the details of the election process and my final experiences in this role. So, let's dive in!

Going back to when I was campaigning, I remember feeling really nervous since it was my first time going from room to room to speak to the students. Although I had some experience with public speaking, it still felt very different and a bit overwhelming during that period. I honestly wasn't expecting to win because I didn't think I was particularly strong in this area. But, luckily, I was elected as the president of Naga National Senior High School for the school year 2023-2024.

During my presidency, adjusting was tough at first. Being a class president or a group leader in activities was manageable for me, but handling an entire school was a different challenge altogether. It was overwhelming initially, but with time and the support of our SSLG adviser, Ma'am Despi, I began to adapt. I learned the importance of being flexible and collaborative, which made the tasks at hand more manageable. The cooperation and camaraderie among my fellow officers played a huge role in easing the workload. They became more than just colleagues; they turned into a family for me. We faced many ups and downs, but I am proud to say that our term was successful. Through this experience, I formed closer bonds with many students, creating a more united school community. My heartfelt thanks go to Ma'am Despi, my co-officers, and everyone in the school for making this journey memorable and rewarding. ❤️

But yeah, like every president, terms come to an end. I will definitely miss all the memories, activities, and everything else that happened during my presidency. It was a journey full of learning and growth, and now, it's time to reflect on what transpired during the elections. So, let's dive into the events during the recent SSLG elections at our school.

So yeah, the election started at 6:20 am on May 24, and I was the one who made the schedule, HAHAHAHAHHA. I organized it by strand to ensure a smooth voting process. But before this, we encountered some problems. Due to the extreme heat, our face-to-face classes were suspended during this time, so there was a high chance of conducting online elections or voting. However, I gave it a lot of thought. Unlike other schools, I decided to proceed with face-to-face elections because many issues could arise with online voting, such as dummy accounts or system troubleshooting. The heat wasn't a major obstacle since the voting took place in the computer laboratory, which is air-conditioned.

Since voting started at 6:20, I prepared myself as early as 5 am. I had breakfast and got my SSLG president t-shirt ready. When I arrived at the school around 5:50, we started setting up chairs, attendance sheets for the voters, and the computer systems. A few minutes later, the three party lists aiming to lead our school arrived. These three party lists would vote first before the rest of the students. But before the election started, they had a briefing in the room next to the computer laboratory. After that, the election officially began!

When the voting began, the atmosphere was palpable with intensity and excitement. You could feel the eager anticipation in the air as the candidates and students alike were fully invested in this pivotal moment. Each party list had worked tirelessly, campaigning and presenting their platforms, and now it was time for the students to cast their votes for the future leaders of our school. As I observed the process, I could see the determination in the eyes of the candidates, each one hoping to make a difference and take on the responsibilities that come with leadership.

The students, on the other hand, were equally engaged. They were carefully considering their options, discussing among themselves, and ultimately making their choices based on who they believed would best represent their interests and bring positive change. It was inspiring to witness this level of engagement and civic responsibility among my peers. The room buzzed with conversation and the sound of computer keyboards as votes were cast.

Ma'am Despi had brought snacks for us since we were managing the election, but this food was also available to other students if they were hungry. Seeing everyone so passionate about the election reminded me of my own journey, from the nervousness of campaigning to the honor of serving as the SSLG president. It was a bittersweet moment, knowing that my term was coming to an end, but also feeling proud of the democratic process we had fostered. This election was more than just a formality; it was a testament to the commitment of our student body to take an active role in shaping our school’s future.

After the exhausting election process, Ma'am Despi treated us to lunch. We absolutely adore Ma'am Despi; she’s like a second mother to us. She’s not just an SSLG adviser but also a nurturing figure who genuinely cares about us. We cherished these moments together, sharing stories and laughter over our meal. Once we finished eating, we got straight to counting the votes. Yes, it was a quick process, but we were meticulous and precise in our work. With the online system, it was relatively easy to tally the results, ensuring that everything was accurate and fair. The efficiency of the process allowed us to swiftly determine the outcomes, wrapping up the election smoothly.

The vote counting was finally done, and before posting the results, we took a moment to reflect on the winners. It was clear to us that the newly elected leaders were well-suited to take on the roles. We extended our congratulations to all the candidates because each of them showed remarkable leadership qualities. Seeing the Facebook stories of the newly elected president being active and engaged makes me and Ma'am Despi very happy. It's encouraging to witness the new leadership stepping up and continuing the legacy of dedication and commitment to our school community.
