Preparing for a huge celebration is not easy and it takes a lot of time especially when everything is cooked and prepared at home. I am just very grateful that my sister, @pjprincess01 is always there to help using her cullinary skills and art.
December 18th was my daughter's 7th birthday and it's very lovely because my youngest cousin was also born the same day, only hours apart and her parents decided we combine the celebration so it will not be had for each of us. I honestly felt pressured by what they said because I and my husband don't really agree on spending too much to celebrate birthdays because we have other priorities to spend money on.
The time they told us about what they are planning to prepare, I panicked! They have prepared two pigs, one for roasting and one for other dishes. My husband then said he would have the cake, one each for the birthday girls and a tub of ice cream and coke.
They agreed and so three days before the huge event, yeah it was huge, way bigger than I have thrown birthday celebrations for my kid at home, I asked my sister to help me buy things for the cake, and the day before the birthday party, she made the cakes and they were so beautiful!
She had been baking the whole day and was tired, while I was at work making sure to have an income to cover all the expenses. Late at night, after I put my kids to sleep, I went to their house to help but I was too late. The cake is almost done and when I trued making the flower, it just didn't work.
She was hesitant of her cake at first but with the help of the candies that were decorated in the cake, everything had gotten better.
Everyone has first in everything and so it was my sister's first try of powdered food colouring and color mixing and she thought did not go well, the color she wanted was not the result of what she mixed but all is still well and besides the taste makes the cake more of a cake than how it appears. Honestly, the cake was very delicious compared to the ones sold in bakeries in our locality
Contented with her work, she asked my help to out the cakes in the refregerator and so I did and we all went to sleep and prepared ourselves for a big day.
Im grateful for my sister who has a beautiful heart in helping me and my uncle in the success of the birthday celebration.
