Hi Hivers!
Being a mom means waking up every day with a long to-do list cleaning, organizing, preparing meals, and making sure everyone at home is okay. Some days are exhausting, but there are also small moments that make everything worth it.
Recently, I decided to make a small batch of homemade mango float. Nothing fancy, just crushed graham crackers, all-purpose cream, condensed milk, and sweet ripe mangoes. It’s one of the easiest no-bake desserts, but when made with love and careful preparation, it becomes extra special.
Honestly, I only made a few tubs at first. I told myself, “Let’s try this and see if anyone will buy.” As a mom trying to earn from home, every small step feels a little scary. You think about the ingredients, the costing, and whether people will actually like what you made.

But to my surprise, my mango float almost sold out in just one day!
I only have four tubs left and yes, my husband already wants one. Of course, I jokingly told him he still needs to pay. We moms need to protect our profit, right?
More than the sales, what made me happy was the feeling that I can still contribute financially while staying at home. It may be a simple dessert, but it represents effort, courage, and hope. I carefully computed my costing to make sure I earn while keeping the price affordable. Running a small home-based business teaches you to value every peso and every customer.
As mothers, we carry so many responsibilities every day. Sometimes we forget to celebrate our small wins because we are too focused on what still needs to be done. This mango float reminded me that even small beginnings can turn into something sweet and meaningful.

Maybe next time, I will prepare a bigger batch. Maybe I will try new flavors. For now, I am just grateful, grateful for supportive customers, grateful for my family, and grateful for the courage to start.
To all the moms out there who are thinking of starting something small from home just begin. It doesn’t have to be perfect. One recipe, one batch, one customer at a time.
Sometimes, the sweetest victories come from the simplest desserts.
