Yesterday we had a family safari in the heart of the city – we visited the zoo! Nothing beats joint trips, especially when you can see animals up close, which so far we have only seen in books and fairy tales. Of course, like every of our family adventures, this one was also full of laughter, chaos and unforgettable moments.
"Dad, are they striped or checked?" – that is, a meeting with a zebra
One of the first stops was a pen with a zebra, which immediately provoked Wiktor's philosophical reflections: "Dad, are they black striped on a white background or white on black?" I tried to answer in the style of a sage, but in the end it was Sara who solved the problem: "It depends on the perspective!
And here we have a little philosopher in the family.
The giraffes made a huge impression on everyone – literally. Alex stood under one of them and, mouth agape, coughed out, "They're taller than you, Dad!" Which I took as a personal slap in the face, but well he was right.
Sara immediately began to analyze whether the giraffe would look prettier in a scarf, and Victor came up with the idea that it would be fun to climb on her back and "see the whole world". Fortunately, no one tried to test this theory in practice.
When we reached the wild catwalk, Oskar was immediately delighted with them. –Cried. Wiktor, on the other hand, said that they looked like they were plotting something, and it was hard to disagree with him – their looks said one thing: "give us a moment and we'll open this cage ourselves".
Fennec was an absolute hit. Wiktor said that he looks like "a dog with giant ears that hears everything, even what someone says in space". Alex, on the other hand, couldn't get over the fact that he was so tiny, and yet he wasn't afraid of people. If it weren't for the checks, Sara would probably try to take him in, because – as she said herself – "a fennec fox in a sweater would be the cutest in the world".
Oskar fell silent at the lions. And this means only one thing – genuine interest. He stood, staring at the big male, who was lazily stretching on the rock, and then said, "That kind of lion has a life."
And he must have been a little jealous of him, because after a while he added: "He sleeps all day, everyone is afraid of him, and if he wants something, the female brings it to him."
Well, I couldn't help but laugh.
The tigers, on the other hand, evoked a completely different reaction. Sara noticed that the tiger looked like a big, dangerous cat and wondered if the XXL version of Mija would look similar. Then we came to the conclusion that Roni was too cute to anyone to think of hunting him.
We stopped at hippos, which were quietly splashing in the water. Wiktor was delighted: – They do what I do in the bathtub! –Stated.
But Oskar couldn't believe that these inconspicuous, lethargic animals were one of the most dangerous in the world. He asked in clear disbelief.
The explanation that hippos do not eat people, but can be very aggressive, did not fully convince him.
Wiktor summed it up differently: "They just don't like it when someone disturbs them while bathing.
And it actually made sense.
Penguins were the stars of the enclosure. Sara noticed that they looked like gentlemen in tailcoats, and Wiktor added that they "walk like a grandmother in the snow".
But it was the seals that stole the show – one of them started to spin in circles, waving her fins at the children, which caused bursts of laughter. Alex exclaimed.
And in fact, it looked as if she was trying to imitate their movements.
After an eventful day, we returned home tired but satisfied. Each child had their favorite – Oskar a tiger, Sara a fennec fox (and a giraffe that she would like to dress), Alex a seal, and Wiktor... well, anything that could be compared to himself.
And although we didn't adopt any animals (despite numerous attempts to convince me to a zebra, fennec fox and a hen from the mini-zoo), we will definitely remember this day for a long time.

Rodzinny wypad do ZOO
Wczoraj urządziliśmy sobie rodzinne safari w samym sercu miasta – odwiedziliśmy zoo! Nic nie przebije wspólnych wypraw, zwłaszcza gdy można z bliska zobaczyć zwierzęta, które do tej pory oglądaliśmy tylko w książkach i bajkach. Oczywiście, jak każda nasza rodzinna przygoda, ta również była pełna śmiechu, chaosu i niezapomnianych momentów.
„Tata, a one są w paski czy w kratkę?” – czyli spotkanie z zebrą
Jednym z pierwszych przystanków była zagroda z zebrą, która natychmiast wywołała filozoficzne rozważania Wiktora:
– Tata, a one są w czarne paski na białym tle czy w białe na czarnym?
Próbowałem odpowiedzieć w stylu mędrca, ale w końcu to Sara rozwiązała problem:
– To zależy od perspektywy!
I oto mamy małą filozofkę w rodzinie.
Żyrafy zrobiły na wszystkich ogromne wrażenie – dosłownie. Alex stanął pod jedną z nich i z rozdziawioną buzią wykrztusił:
– One są wyższe od ciebie, tata!
Co uznałem za osobisty policzek, ale cóż miał rację.
Sara natychmiast zaczęła analizować, czy żyrafa wyglądałaby ładniej w szaliku, a Wiktor wymyślił, że fajnie byłoby się wspiąć na jej grzbiet i „widzieć cały świat”. Na szczęście nikt nie próbował tej teorii testować w praktyce.
Kiedy dotarliśmy do wybiegu likaonów, Oskar z miejsca się nimi zachwycił.
– To takie dzikie psy! – zawołał.
Z kolei Wiktor stwierdził, że wyglądają, jakby coś knuły, i w sumie trudno było się z nim nie zgodzić – ich spojrzenia mówiły jedno: „dajcie nam chwilę i otworzymy tę klatkę sami”.
Fenek był absolutnym hitem. Wiktor stwierdził, że wygląda jak „piesek z gigantycznymi uszami, który słyszy wszystko, nawet co ktoś mówi w kosmosie”.
Alex natomiast nie mógł się nadziwić, że jest tak malutki, a mimo to nie boi się ludzi. Gdyby nie kraty, Sara pewnie spróbowałaby go przygarnąć, bo – jak sama stwierdziła – „fenek w sweterku byłby najsłodszy na świecie”.
Przy lwach Oskar zamilkł. A to oznacza tylko jedno – autentyczne zainteresowanie. Stał, wpatrując się w wielkiego samca, który leniwie przeciągał się na skale, po czym rzucił:
– Taki lew to ma życie.
I chyba trochę mu zazdrościł, bo po chwili dodał:
– Śpi cały dzień, wszyscy się go boją, a jak coś chce, to samica mu to przynosi.
Cóż, nie mogłem się nie śmiać.
Za to tygrysy wzbudziły zupełnie inną reakcję. Sara zauważyła, że tygrys wygląda jak wielki, niebezpieczny kot i zaczęła się zastanawiać, czy Mija w wersji XXL wyglądałaby podobnie.
– Gdyby była tygrysem, mogłaby polować na Roniego – dodała.
Po czym doszliśmy do wniosku, że Roni jest jednak zbyt uroczy, by komukolwiek przyszło do głowy na niego polować.
Zatrzymaliśmy się przy hipopotamach, które spokojnie taplały się w wodzie. Wiktor był zachwycony:
– One robią to, co ja w wannie! – stwierdził.
Za to Oskar nie mógł uwierzyć, że te niepozorne, ospałe zwierzęta są jednymi z najniebezpieczniejszych na świecie.
– One kogoś zjadły? – zapytał z wyraźnym niedowierzaniem.
Tłumaczenie, że hipopotamy nie jedzą ludzi, tylko mogą być bardzo agresywne, nie do końca go przekonało.
Wiktor podsumował to inaczej:
– Po prostu nie lubią, jak ktoś im przeszkadza w kąpieli.
I to w sumie miało sens.
Pingwiny były gwiazdami wybiegu. Sara zauważyła, że wyglądają jak dżentelmeni w frakach, a Wiktor dodał, że „chodzą jak babcia po śniegu”.
Ale to foki skradły show – jedna z nich zaczęła się kręcić w kółko, machając płetwami do dzieci, co wywołało salwy śmiechu.
– Ona się bawi z nami! – wykrzyknął Alex.
I faktycznie, wyglądało to tak, jakby próbowała naśladować ich ruchy.
Po całym dniu pełnym wrażeń wracaliśmy do domu zmęczeni, ale zadowoleni. Każde dziecko miało swojego ulubieńca – Oskar tygrysa, Sara fenka (i żyrafę, którą chciałaby ubrać), Alex fokę, a Wiktor… cóż, wszystko, co dało się porównać do niego samego.
I chociaż nie przygarnęliśmy żadnego zwierzaka (mimo licznych prób przekonania mnie do zebry, fenka i kurki z mini-zoo), to na pewno zapamiętamy ten dzień na długo.
