Mici & Actifit October 27 2025

Not the best ones but good enough to fill a hungry belly. If you ask any Romanian what's the best food/dish in your country they will always come up in top 3 (next to stuffed cabbage rolls) and many times even as the #1. They're called "mici" which is always odd to translate in English as "mici" translates to "smalls" or "little ones".

very nice! are they little kebaps? (kebapcheta)

and the stuffed cabbage rolls we make with sauerkraut..
& we call them "sarmi" (from turkish) :)
usually they're very trendy at the christmas table ;)

cheers! ;)

Yup very similar to kebapcheta but the main difference would be that "mici" almost always contain garlic and baking soda, yes baking soda, it makes them more fluffy :)))
The other food, you call them sarmi, we call them sarmale, same turkish origins except me make them with pork meat of which the turks are/were not very fond of. :)))

Interesting! :) then I'm going to try making mici sometime!

Yes :) our standart for minced meat is to mix pork with beef :)
...or just pork...

For "mici" the normal recipe would be with beef and sheep meat but nowadays a lot of pork is included because it's cheaper.

I see thank you!

The doc I work for is Russian, and his mom makes something similar, but instead of fried, she boils them. They are quite tasty, but I suspect yours are even tastier because it looks like there would be a bit of 'crunch' with those! Do you ship them? 😊

Thanks for sharing!

Not that much about the crunch, but grilling any kind of meat usually gives it a lot more flavour than just boiling it, but yeah I know the russians have a lot of boiled stuff in their food recipes.

!INDEED Take care!

Looks delicious, I’ll take a plate full, I’m starving Lol!!😇
