I once helped to harvest olives on the island of Crete. I was in college, and this was on a trip with a group of students. The host family was so gracious and wonderful. I will never forget the amazing experience of raking the olives out of the trees and then loading them in burlap sacks onto donkeys. I could have stayed forever.
