Hey Actifitters,
The weather yesterday changed significantly, very sunny, but also cool. Perfect! So I did everything I could to start our long walk with Kaia a bit earlier than usual.
After a quick stop behind the front yard, and in spite of some not-so-welcoming locals, we went to our usual forest.
The extra water is starting to recede a bit, but there's still some large puddles on the trails. At least, it's much easier to walk around them.
I think the reflections in these puddles combined with the sun piercing through the leaves, make for really cool photos.
Kaia doesn't worry much about these reflections, once again, she just tries to dunk her entire head inside the water, even though it's not so warm anymore. Nothing better than a dirty stagnant water bath!
Like I said, we could walk around these flooded areas and found much drier trails deeper in the forest.
The timing was pretty good when we went around the forest edge for a couple Cubiverse vaults, the sun was just starting to disappear behind the trees.
More than enough time to go back into the forest for one last splash around!
I thought we'd be too late but I was surprised to see we still had time to catch the sunset near the golf course. It had been a while since we went there. As usual, we met so many deer on the way, they are absolutely everywhere!
The sunset from the golf course is still beautiful of course, this is still one of my favorite places to catch it.
Once the sun fully went down, we started on our way back home. It was that time of the day when all the neighborhood cats prepare for their evening meeting. We saw at least a dozen in their respective front yards. Below is a sample of the cutest or funniest ones. They all watched Kaia in defiance, she just wanted to say hello to them!
Even though it was well after 9pm when we made it back to the last few blocks near the house, there was still plenty of daylight. We're getting close to the longest day of the year.
And finally, just behind the front yard, we found one more deer. Can you see the front leg, it was stomping it aggressively, but Kaia was too tired to even try responding.
Well, after a lazy day, we had an active one. The bar is passed for @poprzeczka and hopefully it's not the last one in May. It seems the weather is supposed to follow this great trend, sunny and cool, for a few more days. Let's enjoy it!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
