Hey Actifitters,
For my last day in #Macfit Olympics and the first day of the new #Poliac season, I had planned quite an active day yesterday. We started with a walk with Kaia early afternoon (for a Saturday, that's an early start compared to usually).
The weather was mostly sunny but most importantly it was not hot, low 70s F (around 22C). Good for a walk on the forest trails.
We met a lady with a dog that didn't seem as mellow as Kaia, so we gave them lots of space and went off-trail. Except for the mosquitoes, that's always fun.
But we quickly went back to the normal trails. I was surprised by how green this area is. I guess with all these trees down, it's easier for wild grass and weeds to take over.
We often see deer out there, but this time it seemed like they were everywhere.
Kaia couldn't even decide which one to chase, so she chased them all with no success.
Even in the afternoon, we can easily catch a Cubiverse vault near the road construction.
And after that, we usually go back inside the forest for Kaia to stay off-leash a little longer. Guess what we found? Yep, more deer!
Like I said, I had several activities in mind, so we walked back home. Le Chat was waiting for us. Well to be more exact, she was sleeping at her favorite place and just opened an eye when we got back in the backyard.
She did get up though, she craves the attention too much, and as always Kaia is glad to give it.
It was time for me to go for a run. It was my longest one this season, just over 7 miles. And with a decent pace, at least for my current form. I am finally starting to get some consistency with my training, let's see if I can keep it up.
To close the day's activities, we went for another walk with Kaia. I didn't want to go to the forest again, so we just stayed on the neighborhood quiet streets and kept a very slow pace. Perfect for a cool down after my run.
On our way back, Le Chat startled us. It was the furthest away from home I've ever seen her, at least half a mile. She followed us the whole way, hiding in the bushes the few times a car passed by us. She's a funny cat!
All in all, the plan went well, with all 3 activities completed, and over 34k steps. I'm hoping this gives me a bronze medal in #Macfit, along the silver one I already won. And hopefully a win in #Poliac as a bonus.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
