My Actifit Report Card: November 28 2024

Hey Actifitters,

We had a very grey weather again for Thanksgiving, but that didn't stop us from having a quite active day. As often we started with a long walk in the forest with Kaia.

As usual, she started her meticulous exploration when I took off her leash.

But what did we see?...

Well, we didn't see them for long, cause Kaia saw them too! Footrace with the local deer!

Everybody was gone deep in the forest...

When Kaia came back huffing and puffing, she was still on high alert.

I understood why just a minute later. The deer were still around, keeping an eye on her.

After the excitement of the chase, we also added plenty of distance walking along the edge of the forest. This lane is great for biking too, much safer obviously than the busy road next to it.

After a bit of rest at home and of course a few espressos, it was time for a bit more intense activity: I went for a run just before nightfall, my first one since the Detroit half marathon, back in October. It went surprisingly fine, not too long though, just about 4.5 miles at a decent pace.

Then we finished the day's activities with a final night walk to the forest.

I forgot my light, so I had to push the limits of night mode on my phone. It's actually kind of amazing, because on the screen, I could only see all black. And yet the photos aren't so dark.

Maybe the very thin snow dusting helped capture more light. Because of course, it started snowing literally as we got out the door. Even funnier, it stopped as we got back to the yard! It kind of felt like in the cartoons when a character is followed by a cloud dumping rain on them... You know we love snow anyways, it's just that I wasn't exactly dressed for it.

Well, it was an active Thanksgiving for us, and the #poprzeczka bar is passed. As a bonus, the Detroit Lions took advantage of a bizarre end of game to win it and reach 11-1, the first time in their history I believe!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
