Hi, I'm Iris from Indonesia! Today I will share my daily journal again. I work as a part of the QA team of a company at the State in East Java, Indonesia. My work requires me to travel a lot, visiting factories to check our products. Actually, currently we are working with 4 factories so far, but since they are located in different cities, I have plenty of chances to take a long trip everyday.
When I go to work, I try to use different kinds of transportation to spice things up. Sometimes I use public transportation, sometimes I take my motorbike or drive my car, depending on my mood and my schedule. So since today is Monday, I prefer to ride my motorbike since the traffic usually is crazy.
We didn't have any schedule in the morning, so I had a late start. I left home around 8.30 AM and arrived at the factory around 10 AM. Seemed pretty long drive right? But if I use an economic bus, it will take about 2.5 hours to reach there.
I didn't do much today, only office work and some administrative details. Monday tended to be quite slow since it was still Sunday at our US office. I finished pretty early too today, therefore I decided to take some detours during the trip back home. I planned to visit some paddy fields that I often pass by during my trip. It is a small opening located between factories building on the road side, but I found it so endearing.
I got off my motorbike and took a short walk among the young paddy stalks. Some of the fields are in the preparation stage, so the farmers just drown the field in the water to soften the soil, while the others are fully planted.
There is a little stream that separates the fields with the main road and even though it was not clean, the farmers still use it for irrigation. I am sure that it used to be clean back then, but due to rural development and rapid human population, it became polluted. Still, it gives some dreamy touch to the scene.
After some light walking I decided to come back because I just parked my ride on the sideroad and it might not be wise to leave it too long. But the weather was fine, we got some light rain in the afternoon so the sky is so clear. I could see the silhouette of the surrounding mountains in the background. So I just sit on the pavement and see the sunset for a while.
Taking some quiet moments like this is one of my favorites. It gives me time to gather my thoughts and recharge my energy after dealing with problems and people. It was a short break, but I really enjoyed every moment.
