Hi,
Sunny day in Gijón for almost the whole day. But late in the afternoon, a change of weather in a matter of minutes covered the coast with a dense fog coming from the sea.
My intention was to go for a walk to photograph the sunset, but I was surprised to find myself in a fog that barely made out a fisherman on the rocks and some of the buildings closest to the beach.
The humidity was annoying, so I decided to return to where I had left my car parked, but not before strolling through the Isabel la Católica park, about 300 metres from the beach without having fog yet and above all without having the feeling of humidity that autumn fog gives.
On this walk through the park I had the intention of taking some photos for the photo challenge posed by @friendlymoose with the #pobphotocontest: Textures of nature.
So I started by photographing one of the palm trees in the park with its striking rough bark.
There are several types of trees in the park. Some of them are very large with very thick bark that when photographed close up looks like a path that leads to the top of the highest branches.
In many cases the branches are already bare, especially on certain deciduous trees whose leaves are turning the characteristic yellow, orange and brown colours of this time of the year.
Some of the leaves look as if they have recently fallen off because of their green colour and with some life inside them.
But other leaves, already dry and lifeless, contrast with the green grass of the park. But at the same time, their great symmetry already from afar caught my photographic eye to be my entry for this week's #pobphotocontest.
My entry to #pobphotocontest organized by @friendlymoose
Best regards.
