As it is currently, I don't think there is a highly rated thing among all the things I set my mind on throughout the year, more than the way I look forward to spending the Christmas/New Year holidays at home. It's a tradition that means a lot to me. Even as I write this, I wish the month of December could just come next month because I just want to rest from the hustle and bustles of the year.
The Christmas holiday is the only time I “throw away” my phone from work, I turn my back to work and any form of work disturbance. It's the only time I sleep during the day on any day of the week without feeling like I'm being lazy or having a bad attitude towards working hours as a young guy. It's also the only period I eat food as I like without considering the cost of the food or passing through the struggles of what to cook before I can eat. And also, it's the only time I add the weight I'm always looking for due to the excess eating and sleeping. Lol.
Whenever the 20s of December are approaching, for sure my dad and siblings will start reminding us that it's the Christmas season and letting everyone know that it's ideal that everyone must return home to celebrate with family. Although the calling also comes with a reminder that one must buy something or send money home to make the celebration more studded, that's also not a problem because it's just necessary, with a bit of compulsion, that one must support home during such a festive season since a lot really happens, especially with how the house will be filled with people and reckless feeding will be done.
Among other things that make the period a big deal is the family bond, and that's the part my parents are all after because, as it stands currently, that's the only time of the year when everyone gets to gather in that house. The loud endless noise that's always coming out of our compound is fun, and the eating together in the kitchen while squatting, talking, and laughing is a load of fun. Oh, I can't wait for December to come!
