#985 - Marikina Market Shots for Friday.
Freedom Friday, Hive fam! 🌟 Today, let the soul catch its breath. The weekend’s a garden and not a race. Plant seeds of presence everywhere and savor slow tea or coffee sips, unplanned laughs and some sky gazing thing.. Shine softly, listen deeply and remember that rest isn’t laziness but it’s rebellion against a world that never stops spinning.✨ #FridayFreedom #HiveHarmony
And now for our daily shots taken when during a morning at Marikina Market as my wife and I walked the crowded paths with our shopping list in hand. The market was full of sights, sounds and smells of local life. Vendors called out their specials.
We started with the vegetable stalls so many with their colorful displays a color feast for the eyes. We picked out fresh cabbage and selected some eggplants. Carrots, bright and crunchy along with a bunch of pechay green leaves. We chatted briefly with the vendor with her stories adding a personal touch to our market experience.
Then we headed to the meat section, where we have to get fresh chicken and pork. We bought a whole chicken and asked the butcher to chop it into pieces suitable for our adobo recipe. He worked efficiently with his knife and soon our chicken was ready and packed neatly in a plastic bag. We also picked up a pork hind leg and half kilo of ground beef.
As we moved through the market, we also got a tray of fresh eggs with their shells a pristine white. The vendor, an elderly man assured us they were fresh from the farm and we believed him.
Lastly, we fulfilled my mother in law's request for a kilo of sweet potatoes. Our trip to the Marikina Market was more than just a shopping excursion but also an experience, a connection to the community and a reminder of the simple pleasures in life.
