Today, my wife and I took a short road trip over to Cardiff in Wales to visit our son. It's his birthday this week so we had to deliver some presents and we also took him out for lunch. Hence, I didn't get many steps in again today.
Close to my sons house is a small area of unkempt grass, which I noticed has a collection of wild flowers in. Continuing on my theme of cataloguing the wild flowers I come across, I quickly took some pictures, a few of which are included. I had to be quick as the others were soon looking bored as I foraged around in the grass.
Anyway, the first very bright flowers are orange hawkweed (Pilosella aurantiaca), also known as fox and cubs, which is a name I think I prefer.
The other plant, seen below, which has beautiful tiny red flowers, is Scarlet Pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis).
