The national basketball team usually suffer embarrassing defeats in virtually all the international and regional competitions they enter. As a way to stem the continuous failure of this team the national government decided to do something, which is getisoning the appointment of local or indigenous coaches for their foreign counterpart.
It is believed that this measure will add value to the team's performance by the coach bringing his wealth of experience even the field and translate same to the national players. The coach will bring his international knowledge in the field and apply same to the welfare and betterment of the team.
Randle was appointed the head coach in that regard. He was charged to halt the perennial failure and boost their chances of making it to the world cup.
Qualifies were scheduled to begin in a fortnight. In his first five matches played Randle managed to draw one and lost the remaining four, albeit with wide margins. The appointing authority quickly realized that appointment of Randle have not added any value to national team.
