Una de mis comidas favoritas es la árabe y aquí en Buenos Aires hay muchas opciones para elegir. Este tipo de comidas siempre ha sido un poco costoso, pero vale la pena darse un gusto cada cierto tiempo. Es por ello, que el día de hoy vengo con un recorrido en busca de uno de los mejores lugares en este tipo de gastronomía.
One of my favorite cuisines is Arabic, and here in Buenos Aires there are many options to choose from. This type of food has always been a bit expensive, but it's worth treating yourself every once in a while. That's why today I'm going on a tour in search of one of the best places for this type of cuisine.
Uno de los lugares más turísticos de la ciudad se llama microcentro, característico por la variedad de restaurantes, tiendas, artistas callejeros y todo bajo un ambiente europeo, con sus grandes edificaciones que se mantienen en el tiempo, siendo aún más encantador para los visitantes.
One of the most popular tourist spots in the city is called Microcentro, known for its variety of restaurants, shops, street performers, and European atmosphere, with its large buildings that have stood the test of time, making it even more charming for visitors.
Siempre antes de visitar algún lugar, buscamos en las redes la reputación y valoración que da el público, así que con este no fue la excepción. Después de una linda caminata, por fin llegamos a Birra Shawarma, titulado como “El mejor shawarma de la República Argentina” ubicada en la calle Florida al 35.
Before visiting any place, we always search online for reviews and ratings from the public, and this was no exception. After a nice walk, we finally arrived at Birra Shawarma, known as “The best shawarma in Argentina,” located at 35 Florida Street.
Un lugar pequeño, las mesas están en la parte externa y en su interior solo cuentan con una barra y bancos para sentarse. Como el día estaba nublado decimos ubicarnos dentro del local. Sin duda alguna, la decoración llama la atención, tanto por sus colores como los motivos. Los colores son alusivos a la bandera de Armenia y con personajes famosos del futbol argentino como lo son Messi y Maradona.
It's a small place, with tables outside and just a bar and stools inside. As it was a cloudy day, we decided to sit inside. The decor is certainly eye-catching, both for its colors and motifs. The colors are reminiscent of the Armenian flag and feature famous Argentine soccer players such as Messi and Maradona.
Ahora sí, llego la hora de probar lo que tanto deseamos. De mi parte, no tenía muchas ganas de comer carne, así que me fui por unos falafeles y un hummus de garbanzos. Unas verdaderas croquetas, con textura y suavidad en su interior. Estaban hechas de garbanzo y su sabor era delicioso. Todo esto, complementado con el hummus, otra forma de presentación del garbanzo, con un sabor a sésamo y un toque de limón, daba lugar a untar estas croquetas en esta majestuosa crema.
Now it was time to try what we had been craving. Personally, I didn't feel like eating meat, so I went for some falafels and chickpea hummus. These were real croquettes, with a soft texture inside. They were made from chickpeas and tasted delicious. All this, complemented by the hummus, another way of presenting chickpeas, with a sesame flavor and a touch of lemon, made it possible to dip these croquettes in this majestic cream.
Mi familia se fue por el famoso shawarma, una porción considerable, una carne jugosa acompañada de lechuga y tomate con la salsa característica de esta comida, el cual realza su sabor. Una particularidad del sitio es que incorporaron a su menú la opción de papas fritas, algo que no es común en otros restaurantes árabes.
My family went for the famous shawarma, a generous portion of juicy meat accompanied by lettuce and tomato with the dish's signature sauce, which enhances its flavor. A unique feature of this place is that they have added French fries to their menu, something that is not common in other Arab restaurants.
Con la barriguita llena y ya para culminar nuestro lindo paseo por microcentro, optamos por un pequeño cono de helado en uno de los centros comerciales más hermosos de la ciudad, llamado Galerías Pacifico. Por lo tanto, mi familia y yo, junto a la crema americana pusimos punto final a esta tarde de degustación. Agradecidos por compartir estos momentos agradables en esta comunidad.
With our bellies full and ready to finish off our lovely stroll through downtown, we opted for a small ice cream cone at one of the city's most beautiful shopping centers called Galerías Pacifico. So, my family and I, along with the American cream, put an end to this afternoon of tasting. We are grateful for sharing these pleasant moments in this community.
