Weekly Meal Preparation

I really enjoy doing this. Meal prep is your need, if you have to know. When you listen to what your body needs, then you will make an effort to do it. Like making meal prep, even though it is actually very tiring including making a schedule.

Every Sunday, I do research and open a lot of recipe books. Even though in the end I will cook the same thing and repeat, but, opening a recipe book will show a lot of ideas.

Every Monday morning I go to the traditional market and buy a lot of fish, meat, eggs, vegetables and fruits. Some of them will be very tiring because they are large in number, even my shopping basket can weigh 20 kilograms to accommodate shopping at the traditional market.

Not infrequently if without planning I panic to buy a lot of things that are not needed, it can be wasted because I am so ambitious to cook. But, if I have thought about it on Sunday night, then I will never miss making food, everything is right on target and without any leftovers.

This time, I went to the traditional market and bought some things I needed, also adjusted to some of the stock in the refrigerator from last week's shopping.

In the side dish category, as a source of animal protein, I bought 2 types of red meat such as lamb and meat. Both are my and my husband's favorites. I plan to cook lamb biryani and also meatballs. That also fits our needs very well. We don't eat too much red meat, but this is a basic need for those of us who have low blood pressure.

I bought 2 seafood, a fairly large fish and also squid. The balance of protein from seafood will keep me and my family from lacking omega-3 from seafood. One whole chicken that I will roast tomorrow, this is the easiest because I only bake it in the oven, give it a little marinade and it's ready to serve.

Of course, don't forget the source of fiber, source of carbohydrates and also sources of vitamins from vegetables and fruits. Carrots, beans, broccoli and mustard greens are my family's favorites. It seems like this Chinese cabbage is very abundant in the market right now, I will make kimchi as a stock for Korean noodle meal.

In my opinion, listen to your body and meet its nutritional needs. Your body needs good things like macronutrients, meal prep is essential to keep you productive in this economy.
