As part of the last meal of the previous year, I had to make some dessert. Fortunately, we had these bags of mixes in the cabinet. So, I took this one and decided to give it a little boost to make it a fitting of and end-of-the-year dinner.
These bags come with a fine set of instructions. Usually, they tell you which things you need to add. Eggs, oil or butter, if there's the need for milk. And as you might guess these brownie mixes tend to be on the caky side. There are way to fix that. Adding melted chocolate or pieces of it. However, there's the risk of ruining the rations. Baking things is all about ratios.
Also, in the instructions you can find the amount of time the mix needs to be in the oven. This can be used as a way of making a more chewy brownie or something slightly similar. It is all a thing of taste.
For me, the other necessary element are walnuts and chocolate chips. Adding them to the mix gives the brownie some other spots of texture along its fluffy consistency. It is a nice extra. Also sprinkling some on the top to give it an interesting look.
Then, it is just a matter of letting it rest and then dividing it into pieces. Serve with ice cream or alone. Maybe with a nice cup of coffee. It is a brownie! It is good even by itself.
