Good day everyone, especially to my fellow Hivers here in the @asean.hive community. I hope we are all doing well today.
I just want to share our simple dinner earlier. It was not a special occasion, just a weekend where everyone finally had time to rest because there’s no work tomorrow, Church time and also a family time. So, we decided to gather and eat dinner at my sister-in-law’s house.
We all brought rice and shared food together each one contributed what they had. My sister-in-law prepared macaroni salad, and we also cooked fried fish, chicken, and duck from our own backyard. We also had lumpia and kilawin on the table. Simple food, but more than enough for everyone.
Of course, the boys will never let the moment pass without their drinks Tanduay was there too It’s already part of their bonding moments. I’m so amazed when they are drinking, they shared more ideas.
Honestly, our family is not perfect. Some are camera shy, some are very quiet, and some are a bit too outspoken that it sometimes leads to misunderstandings. But at the end of the day, we are still family. We may not always be the loudest or the most picture perfect group, but we always find our way back to each other.
We still shared the meal, sat together, and spent time in one table. After a long week of being busy with responsibilities taking care of our newly born piglets, feeding the ducks, tending the garden, and of course being a mom, it felt good to just pause for a while.
Even though I was tired, I felt light and grateful. We went home earlier than the others because we still had piglets to look after, but I was already full not just from the food, but from the simple moment of being together.
It may look ordinary to others, but for me, it was a reminder that family is not about perfection. It’s about showing up, sharing what you have, and still choosing to stay connected despite everything.
