Así celebramos el jueves gordo (tradición polaca) [ESP/ENG]

Hola a todos! Hoy en Polonia se celebra el jueves gordo o Tłusty czwartek, un día esperado por muchos polacos y hasta por mí jajaja, donde las donas se convierten en el desayuno de los polacos jajaja, bueno en realidad no, pero este día se tiene la costumbre de reunirse con amigos y familiares y comer muchos postres o dulces especialmente donas o Pączki y también las llamadas alas de ángel o Faworki, y aunque esto no es muy saludable, este día no se deja pasar la oportunidad de comerlas ya que se dice que trae alegría y abundancia, de lo contrario trae mala suerte el resto del año y nada quiere eso jajaja por eso los polacos se toman muy en serio este día y puedes ver incluso buenas promociones de donas en el supermercado o pastelerías y hasta largas colas de gente para comprarlas.

Ahora bien, aunque se celebra en febrero, el día cambia cada año, por ejemplo este año se celebró hoy 27 de febrero pero el año pasado fue el 8 de febrero, y según tengo entendido se celebra el último jueves antes de la cuaresma. Mi esposo y yo hoy tampoco dejamos pasar la oportunidad para comerlas, y es que mi suegro como cada año nos trajo 6 donas para nosotros por lo que ya nos comimos las primeras dos y todavía queda parte del día para comer las que nos quedan jajaja. La verdad aunque no soy polaca, me encanta esta tradición porque amo los postres, así que cada año al igual que mi suegro y mi esposo espero este día con muchas ansias para recibir a través de las donas mucha abundancia y felicidad.

Today in Poland is celebrated Fat Thursday or Tłusty czwartek, a day awaited by many Poles and even by me hahaha, where donuts become the breakfast of the Poles hahaha, well not really, but this day it is customary to gather with friends and family and eat many desserts or sweets especially donuts or Pączki and also the so-called angel wings or Faworki, and although this is not very healthy, this day do not miss the opportunity to eat them as it is said to bring joy and abundance, otherwise it brings bad luck the rest of the year and nothing wants that hahaha that's why the Poles take very seriously this day and you can see even good promotions of donuts in the supermarket or bakeries and even long lines of people to buy them.

Now, although it is celebrated in February, the day changes every year, for example this year it was celebrated today February 27 but last year it was on February 8, and as I understand it is celebrated on the last Thursday before Lent. My husband and I didn't miss the opportunity to eat them today either, and my father-in-law brought 6 donuts for us as he does every year, so we already ate the first two and there is still part of the day left to eat the remaining ones hahaha. The truth is that although I am not Polish, I love this tradition because I love desserts, so every year like my father-in-law and my husband I look forward to this day to receive through the donuts a lot of abundance and happiness.
