👩🍳 ¡Hola! ¡Hola! 👩🍳
One of my favorite foods, and that of my partner J.J., is Mexican cuisine. He has worked in restaurants serving this type of food for many years, and I feel a connection to it because my ancestors are from there, and because EVERYTHING IS SO DELICIOUS! It's as if I've been eating it my whole life. That's why he's always giving me Mexican-style food that's very easy to prepare. In my city, some restaurants serving typical Mexican food have become fashionable, but nothing is tastier and more satisfying than preparing these wonderful meals at home to share in our privacy. I've learned that with all this “easy” food that only has flavor but no presentation. Mexican rice is characterized by being very flavorful as part of their food and satisfying their palates, however, this one comes with everything you need to make it. Knowing how everything is, the photos on the boxes are for reference only, so I also used separate ingredients according to what I saw in the image to give it that touch similar to what is eaten in Mexico. This dish can be eaten alone or as a side dish. Here I show you the presentation of the box with the different angles that describe its preparation and nutritional table. In this case, it is a cheesy Mexican rice, somewhat milder than its traditional spicy flavors:
These two ingredients are enough to prepare it; however, in my case, I chopped up some parsley, cilantro, garlic, and onion to give it those “greens” among the color of the rice. The preparation is super easy:
👩🍳 Put a tablespoon of butter in the pot.
👩🍳 Sauté all the seasonings.
👩🍳 Add the rice and sauté until it is covered with the greens. The smell already had me hooked.
👩🍳 Add the packet. I only added half because I thought it was enough, but if you need more, that's why each package of rice comes with a measuring cup. Bad decision, apprentice.
👩🍳 Finally, I added 2 1/2 cups of water, as indicated on the package.
Then I just sat down and waited for it to be ready 😋:
👩🍳 Se coloca en la olla una cucharada de mantequilla.
👩🍳 Sofreí todos los aliños.
👩🍳 Agregué el arroz y lo salteé hasta cubrirlo con los verdes. El olor ya me tenía atrapada.
👩🍳 Agregué el sobre. Solo le agregué la mitad porque pensé que era suficiente, pero si se necesita, porque para eso viene la medida por cada empaque de arroz. Muy mala decisión de aprendiz.
👩🍳 Por último, le coloqué sus 2 1/2 tazas de agua, como indica el empaque.
Después, solo me senté a esperar que estuviese listo 😋:

How did it turn out? DELICIOUS! What did I serve it with? Well, as much as I love Mexican food, I'm still not ready to eat tortillas with rice. For me, it's like eating an arepa stuffed with rice. Do you understand? So, we ate it the traditional way with fajita-style meat, but I remembered that I had some white beans left over that were also delicious, so I took the opportunity to serve a little of both. Would I make it again? Always! Because it's practical and offers a change from the traditional white rice we're used to in Venezuela. Be careful, though, because it contains a lot of preservatives, so people with celiac disease, for example, should be cautious. Enjoy this culinary delight:
