Seafood Spinach Soup on a Scorching Day

in Foodies Bee Hive8 months ago

It’s 31 degrees Celsius, and here I am, diving into a steaming 80-degree Celsius bowl of Spinach Soup. On a day this warm, the last thing I should be eating is a hot soup, but being the adventurous eater that I am, I couldn't resist. This is no ordinary soup; it's the seafood version, and it's as delicious as it sounds.

Today, I wanted to try something new, something I typically reserve for days when I'm feeling under the weather. A warm soup might not be the most obvious choice right now, but my craving for something both tasty and healthy led me straight to it.

Out of the many dishes on the menu, the seafood option immediately caught my eye. My love for seafood undoubtedly influenced my decision. I've tried the version with a variety of eggs before, but it's a bit too rich and heavy for my liking. It’s not that I dislike it; it’s just that I prefer something lighter.

This Spinach Soup is timeless. We all love a good soup, and seafood is always a win. The combination of spinach and seafood is both nutritious and delectable. While it pairs wonderfully with noodles, I prefer it with rice. Pouring the hot soup over the rice not only cools it down but also infuses the rice with incredible flavor.

The biggest challenge? Deshelling the prawns with chopsticks. As tempting as it was to use my hands, I didn't have a way to clean them afterward. So, I embraced the challenge, relying on my chopstick skills and a little help from my lips.

Despite the heat, it was a fun and rewarding experience! This dish is fantastic, though I think I'll save it for cooler evenings in the future, lol.

I ordered my food from the Yong Tau Foo Spinanch soup at Marine Parade hawker center. This meal costs me S$4.80 which is very affordable considering that the ingredients are fresh and the prawns is huge and fresh as well. I will be coming back to this stall to try the Yong Tau dishes also.

My journey to the world of food.

This is nice! But prefer eating when weather is better or colder.

I have to agree with you, the experience will feel a lot better if the weather is colder 😜
